I actually started WHM but then I grabbed AST as soon as I could and thought it would become my main but fell in love with the new WHM skills and now I went back WHM. I love reactive healing and I have always been a priest in WoW so I fell right at home with WHM.

I ended up picking AST because WHM seemed really boring to me, it was such the stereotypical healer, I wanted a class that didn't look like they had a "I AM A HEALER" sign stuck into the top of their head at all times.
I'm not sure why I just CANNOT get into arcanist, I don't know what it is about it but I tried it up to 43 for SCH/SMN and I just.. I can't
AST has a pretty strong healing kit, the animations and designs of the powers look cool, and I LOVE the card mechanic. The card mechanic works pretty well for me since I'm usually pretty lucky so I can just think of what card I want and more often than it probably should the game gives me what I ask for

I've always had the tendency to be a healer in MMOs, so when a friend asked me to play, the class that was recommended to me was WHM.
Started with that, liked it, stuck with it ever since.
Not that I've never given the other 2 a chance. I have a 54 SCH but I know I hate micromanaging another unit so it's out of the question. I don't like the randomness of AST's card system so I don't see myself leaving WHM anytime soon.
Nothing like having quality moments with zombies.

We are currently recruiting! We are a SG/AU based FC, active during GMT+8, recruiting casuals and raiders alike to join us. PST for more info!

I leveled them all, and play them all. I'm my FC's main healer so I just go in with whatever healer is needed, or what suits the content best. I enjoy playing AST the most, so I try and play that as often as possible.
Still leveling white mage (Lv55), but I love my mp almost infinite as Scholar
Today doing Lost City of Amdapor (Hard) with friends and without tank. Was I as healer (Sch) and 3 dps (bard, dragoon and black mage). A little hard, but possible. But I had to use Dissipation more than usual. Anyway, with other healer job would be impossible for me keep all alive, I think o.o Especially because I am very bad in manage mp as ast and white mage XD
I was WHM back when I started the game then when I formed a static with my friends they made me SCH. Right now I keep up with all 3 healing classes because as an SCH I need to have an idea how much healing my healing partner can deliver so i can push more dps as a support healer.
Always by your side. . .

Was home alone for a week, me and two friends decided to level WAR, NIN and WHM (the latter of which was me). Had a good run as WHM, although I do main DRG over everything else, so it took me quite a while to get WHM to 60. After that I picked up AST and SCH for the hell of it.
I blow as SCH.
As AST I'm good enough to soloheal - something I never really thought would happen when I was a WHM. Poor WHM and that week of no sleep while levelling all went to waste, but I fell in love with how engaging AST was to someone who tends to space out after a while when she's not in melee range.

When I bought this game, I intended to play a Summoner, since I like pet classes. My Arcanist became level 30 and while leveling my Thaumaturge, a guildmate of mine told me that my Arcanist has a second job option. So I leveled Conjurer and unlocked both Summoner and Scholar. Past mmorpgs have taught me that leveling as a healer takes longer then damage dealer. One day I wanted to do some dungeons and queue times for damage dealers were horrible back then, waiting for Brayflox could take 45-60 minutes. So I switched classes and tried entering as a Scholar, since healers have wait less in a queue and both Summoner and Scholar share EXP bar, so its a WIN/WIN for me.
After few runs, I started to enjoy healing more and more and I decided to do quests as a Summoner and do dungeons as a Scholar. I did this from level 35 till now.

Part lore (as arcanist/scholar), part mechanics. DoTs are fire-and-forget, and in a way their shield-heals as well, which makes the job a lot easier for me than conjurer. That, and I'm more of a bookworn than a tree hugger (not that they're mutually exclusive, but you get the idea) kinda guy.
