im quite often out with new players, other week i actually took 3 new players who i didnt know out to camp blackbrush and showed them how to do the behest and explained other things.

why?

because thats what good players do

i thought i'd bring up a subject thats easily overlooked with this patch.

i feel sorry for those players who've only been playing a breif time and just got use to how things work as they are.

now this huge patch is coming changing alot of the key systems and i cant help but feel sorry for them because they'll have the hardest time adjusting, especialy if thier not aware of the lodestone yet.

I understand. I remember having a hard time getting used to new things when the game started (I had no idea I had to pick up crafting materials for leves sometimes, or where to get them), and everything changing suddenly can throw a person off, but I believe people will adapt just fine. We just have to help each other out when we're confused or frustrated about new things.
We'll be alright. ^-^ Just gotta help those newer people adjust.

Well, I started right after the last patch, and even though I finally got used to the game mechanics, I have to say I'm looking forward to this new patch, even if it means to change several things.

Btw, it's quite sad how many new players ask for help and nobody answers, I always try to help most of them, the same way a lot of people helped me back when I began.

i'm new, been playing for just over four weeks. i'm looking forward to the new patch. i also think a game that is played using the interweb is going to almost encourage you to find out about it, using said interweb that's how i found the lodestone

I dont see how being an old player lets you adjust to sudden game changes more easily that a player who played one day before the big patch to be honest xD

It'd only make you aware of what changed. I just started played again less than 3 weeks ago, and this game isn't hard. Anyone who is having difficulty "getting used to it" really isn't using the tools available to them, or is just too lazy to figure it out. One of the best aspects of this game, and FFXI before it, was the difficulty. We don't want every 5 year old who can hit "1" "2" "3" to hit cap level, do we? Any player actually worth their bandwidth shouldn't have such a hard time "adapting" to the game, right?

That being said, there are plenty of things about this game that are just broken. Don't read that as "difficult", shit is broken.

Not knowing to hit "Return" when you die isn't "difficult", that shit's just broken.

I did not read 1/2 of this thread but I've been playing for 6 Weeks and now have 2 R50 and the best gear in game this game is easy. If you find this game hard you are doing it wrong!!
