Leveling roulette drops me into Brayflox NM, on my MCH. For some reason, Roulette seems to think I'm a mentor(never going to happen) and groups me up with a sproutling PLD and BLM, and a WHM that doesn't have a sprout either but might as well be. PLD was lvl. 35, the WHM was 32, and the BLM was 33. All of them were on their highest-leveled job, while I'm at lvl. 45 on MCH, which is my second-lowest combat job. The WHM and BLM were both in what looked like Toto-Rak-level equipment, with the WHM missing a necklace. The PLD was appropriately-geared, but forgot to turn on Sword Oath. No big deal, I reminded them and they turned it on.

On the second pull, the PLD Shield Lobs a melee mob, and proceeds to completely ignore the ranged mob throwing rocks at him from the other side of the stream. So of course the WHM gets aggro, and goes down, and then the PLD goes down, and thankfully, I don't die.

We continue. On the first boss, I'm the only person who's killing the adds. I have no idea what this BLM is doing, but they're completely ignoring the adds and throwing random spells at the boss. The PLD runs out of MP, doesn't use their MP combo, so they can't use Flash to grab the adds as they spawn, and eventually the WHM runs out of MP healing the PLD because the BLM isn't helping me to kill the adds. It goes on for so long that the LB bar fills up and I use it on a pack of adds that are eating the WHM alive.

On and on we go, I'm slowly getting more and more annoyed but I don't want to raise a fuss anymore so I don't say anything. Just before the third boss, the PLD accidentally pulls 5-6 mobs, doesn't use a single defensive cooldown that I can see, and dies, along with the WHM again. They come back, and at the third boss, once again, I'm the only person killing the bubbles. Once again, the BLM isn't doing anything to help. By the time the 3rd boss is dead, I've used LB three times since the start of the dungeon.

Up to the final boss, Aiatar. Somewhere along the line, the BLM has leveled to 34, and now they have Fire III so they can be even more useless. As we start on Aiatar, I finally start paying attention to what the hell this BLM is doing. Something along the lines of running aimlessly around the room, casting Blizzard, then Fire, then Fire, and then some Scathe. Then standing around doing nothing.

Eventually, I kill Aiatar, comm the WHM for putting up with that bullshit, and manage to leave without saying a word. I had absolutely nothing to say to that BLM except some choice curse words.

Just came out of a Lost City HM run. At the start of the run the WHM starts to randomly attack us other three for not having melded our lore gear and how we are a waste of his time. We had to cope with this for the first 5 minutes of the run as he sat back at st the start refusing to heal. Only thing he did was throwing around swear words and calling us idiots for even trying to do some progress in the dungeon without him.

We eventually decided to go afk and let him abandon duty as it instead of votekicking him after the first 5 Minutes. He was getting comically mad at this as we told him we could be done with this dungeon by the time he can abandon the duty.

In the end we finished with a replacement healer once that douche abandoned.

Only thing he did was throwing around swear words and calling us idiots for even trying to do some progress in the dungeon without him.

We eventually decided to go afk and let him abandon duty instead of votekicking him after the first 5 Minutes. He was getting comically mad at this as we told him we could be done with this dungeon by the time he can abandon the duty.

In the end we finished with a replacement healer once that douche abandoned.

This bard in Lost City HM which I was running on BLM. Singing Requiem like there's no tomorrow, praising me for my "amazingly high DPS" during the big pull between boss #1 and #2 (a crit Flare of mine hits for ~8k per mob when Requiem is up - but what he's been seeing there was actually my LB ') and literally sacrificing himself for me. At the second boss, tank and I had earth debuff and healer and bard had wind debuff, and the boss put up wind spheres. The tank took one of them while I was on my way to the second one, but the bard ran into it, almost died and then told me, "don't interrupt your cast, I'll take care of these". My thoughts were something between "Wow, no need to kill yourself!", "LOL this bard understood his role as supporter" and "most amazing bard ever". So great, this guy.

Its like the white mage assumed you had materia at the ready to throw at your lore gear as soon as you got it .___.

Lol this is a first...my lore gear isn't even melded yet, I'm not doing it until I have all the pieces in order to see where I need stat improvements..because ya know..logics? If this came off as something other than agreeing with the OP sorry, I meant it as a not everyone melds right away, agreement sorta thing.

I've just woken up, so I'm not sure at all if you were serious here. But just a heads up, you can see the stats at the vendor, or add them up in ariyala, and know exactly which stats optomize best. But you also only even need to meld, especially with that kind of planning, if you are raiding, in which case, you need the stats asap, not 10 weeks down the road.

Then there is that by the ti.e you have all the lore gear, you will start upgrading it to 240, losing the materia faster as well. Better to wait until upgrade if thats your plan.

So I was playing another game about a week ago while waiting for a dungeon queue (lvl 50 DR). Entered Keeper of the Lake (yuck), minimized my other game and openly said right at the start of the dungeon "Hey, I am in afk in this other MMO I am playing atm so if I stop moving for a few seconds it's because I am just clearing off some random aggro that pops on me so I don't die. If it happens it will be literally 5 seconds."

The tank was a first timer in that dungeon, the other DPS hadn't played DRG in quite a while (openly said that at the start too) and the healer was just some AST.

Anyway, dungeon wasn't the greatest (kept pulling hate off the tank while using quelling, and even easing off DPS until he had solid hate again etc). Wasn't too concerned, just let him be a newbie and do what he was doing.

Get to the final boss and the sour-sauce healer says "OK so put that other game down and focus". (Meanwhile I hadn't even looked at my 2nd screen the entire dungeon and didn't mention it since entering). I replied with "lol what? It isn't even an issue, nor has it been an issue this entire run. Don't worry about it".

So what does the healer do? The healer gets salty at my response and says "Oh it's not even an issue huh? Let's see how true that is".. The tank pulls the boss - I quelling & do normal DPS rotation, pull hate like I had been every boss fight, get to about 50% of my HP. Stop attacking so tank can establish hate again, meanwhile I just dodge stuff. Healer decides they want to prove a some deranged point that "having another game open at the same time is a problem" and decides not to heal me. I keep myself alive for half of the fight (with second wind and random NQ x-pots I had in my inventory) but eventually die to the room-wide AoE that Midgar occasionally throws out. Party wipes because not enough DPS to kill the floating mob that drops the force field thingy.

DRG and I both question the healer as to why they are so salty about it all.. Tank pulls again, healer doesn't heal me (I am out of X-Pots by this stage) and I again, pull hate, die to room-wide AoE, same thing happens..

I did a vote kick, first time is denied. Healer keeps harping on about some stuff before the next pull, threatening to not heal me again.. I vote kick again and it goes through this time. DRG simply says "I only declined the first time because it was the last boss".

I asked an FC mate to queue in progress for us and we finish it off..

So this is more of a message to those stubborn healers that think they can make a point by not healing someone - yes we will vote kick you, if you are wasting the group's time.

I am totally baffled by that sort of attitude, I miss the words to express how so wrong that was ...omg thankfully we dont have many of those with that attitude..of...

Eh? The attitude/opinion that if someone chose to be an arse and not heal someone out of stubbornness, that they will most likely be vote kicked?

I fail to see how this "attitude" is not shared with many, if not the majority of the community.

This goes with any role really. A tank? If you stand there and don't bother holding hate and let bosses trample all over your party.. If a DPS just sit there and AA's until the party wipes due to failing a DPS check.. All of these cases are much in the same.

If you wouldn't vote yes to a vote kick when someone does this sort of thing twice in a row, and wastes everyone's time, then that would honestly surprise me.

I will add that I said very little to actually spark that from the healer. All I said was, having this other game running isn't an issue / isn't affecting the run at all, and that I hadn't even touched it since I made the comment at the beginning. I was being polite by warning them, instead of many others that would probably just sort it out without saying a word. The healer then proceeded to refer to me as a "smart arse" and wanted to exhibit their superiority complex.
