It would be cool to obtain them ingame, yeah, but I can understand that there's people that will buy it, and SE wants to make money and that's nothing wrong with it.

So again, as long as it's not pay2win, I'm ok with any optional item! Actually they've never sold anything too special, just reskins, the only exception being Sleipnir.

Prices are absurd, I think the costume prices are alright but 15$ for the moggle and bahamut what..? Well, if the items can only be placed once that's even worse, if it can be removed and someone in the FC houses remove them, then that is a problem.

I definitely don't like the approach they're going with this. Only a matter of time before special event quests/ class specific items are available there & in-game bonuses.

I don't mind this as long as it isn't weapons, gil, exp boosts, or a race. Beats getting scrips to level my crafter for 2 months just for a piece of furniture or buying it for 5 mil on the market board. :/

Retainers? They really straddle the line with those IMO, and I'd say they cross it even... Mostly because of Retainer Ventures...

It's what, 2$/30days per additional Retainer? Ventures are not remotely hard to accumulate, so once you've got them leveled you can essentially get what, 4,000G/18h off a Retainer through Allagan Pieces? Lets just say thats 4k/day, that's essentially 2$ for 120,000G.

And that isn't considering this games fairly inadequate inventory that make paying for Retainers particularly shady, or the additional chances at "rare" Retainer minions like the Fat Cat, or even the added ability to just churn out things like Shards and Crystals.

Furniture being in the cash shop is fine, I don't think that's an issue tbh..

It is in a game with monthly sub. We pay for the game, we pay the sub, and now we have to pay for the extra thing that should be included in the game...
I'm not against paying a sub in ordre to have quality, as I'm not against using the cash shop in a F2P game to support the dev team and get some extras BUT, I'm clearly against doing BOTH !
Of course i'm not forced to buy them but glamour and furniture today....raid stuff and mémo tomorow....

The cash shop's purpose is to allow people to further support the game by throwing money at it, in exchange for items that have no real relevance to how you play the game. Minions now sort of straddle the line of whether or not they are irrelevant, because of Verminion, but nothing else matters. Having the costumes, dyes, mounts or furntiture is purposeless in terms of gameplay. They give you no added advantage over anybody else, but you could argue the minions do. I have no qualms with any of these. If people want to buy an item that is without practical use, i couldn't care less. I am pretty sure this extra income from bonus goods and services (fantasia, name change, world transfer) is the reason why we got some certain things... Like a European data center. Ffxiv has less than a million subs, so thats not all coming from there. Heck, i think at the last point they put up a "brag banner," there was only four million accounts. Most of those are innactive.

I have 8 retainers! It's not really game-killer as it seems. It helps (with items such as topsoils and stuff, it saves you some time to mine) but it's not game killer D:
