Er no.Did you miss the part where I micro-manage my fairy constantly? I'm always telling her who to heal. That's what I don't like. I don't like that, as a healer, my own personal job is to keep hammering my DPS spells while yelling at the actual healer of the duo, the fairy, to throw cure bombs at X, Y, or Z. My fairy's heals =/= my heals. Embrace is not a job or class skill, it's a pet skill.
My personal heals are Physick, Adloquium, Succor, Indomitability, and Lustrate. Those are job/class actions, they're a part of my personal kit. Embrace is a pet action, it's not a direct part of my kit, but rather, something I tell the floating light bulb next to me to do while I continue to hammer away at my DPS spells. That is not planning. That's just being lazy and shunting my job off on someone/thing else.
The fairy you summon, and by extention their spells, are all part of the SCH tool kit.
Tell you what, since you think they are not, try summoning selene/eos on your WHM/AST and tell me how that works out for you.

I do not disagree. But that fact doesn't change the fact what op is trying to say (or at least what I think he's trying to say). And let's be honest, WHM AST actually do get to heal more while SCH will have to DPS most of the time. It's the same meta for all healers though. In FFXIV, all healers are glorified DPS roles. It's definitely not a game for people who prefer the traditional "heal 95% of the time, kill stuff 5% of the time" in online games because the FFXIV community has created a mentality that any healer who can't DPS due to some real life circumstance, or simply chooses not to because they aren't comfortable, is scum and should "git gud or uninstall."
A good job to heal. A bad job to get to heal.

maybe a budget SCH does nothing but dps and leaves it to their cohort
Let me know when you force your WHM/AST co healer to DPS 99% of the time because you overide them and forcably solo heal everything whilst still outputting DPS as much as possible.
Kessler Larael / Alesana Gardeneau / Sierra Alpha / Moko Tarou
[Coeurl Army]
Raeleighn Corinthian / Riley Renault
[Balmung Hobos]
6 characters, 1 massive idiot

Because the meta is lazily adopted does not mean it's a bad meta. Ideally, both healers are dealing damage, not just one. Why would you make a scholar spend 3 GCDs on broil when he/she can take over while the other healer can get their DoTs out? It's a no brainer that the combined effort leads to better combined results. Which is also much harder to execute, sadly. Compared to making it as black and white as a 95% healer and a 95% pseudo DPS
I got a selene/eos on AST..... To bad its a cooldown but does not give a pet![]()
(Talking about synasty)

You know, because SCHs totally havent had a ton of situations where an incompetent co-healer forced them to essentially solo heal the raid while still providing dps
Back when I played Scholar I used to use Sacred Soil a lot because 1) It looks cool and 2) Reduces incoming damage. I don't know if that's a good idea or not but I figured less damage for all = good, plus pretty bubbles. I haven't played Scholar in a long time but I did more healing than DPSing as I recall. Infact, I rarely DPSed because I was scared I would mess it up and let someone die. I always assumed the DPS spells were only there for solo playing...

But to be honest, unless you are running something in a static or with friends you trust, you will not be DPSing 95-100% of the fight most of the time since a huge chunk of random players I find have trouble healing without help

I have had plenty of runs where I became the main healer, either because the co-healed was, locked out, died, new, or, and big or here, they we great at their job that they DPSed more than me and I had to switch to main heals. The only reasonScholars are the DPS healer is because they have sustained DPS, the other healers don't. Other than that every healer is roughly the same.
I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.
