not going to lie, everything about your chr is throwing red flags up for me. on topic, first thing to always remember is put your venom(s) on. second is keep huton up. you will also want to get lancer leveled like mentioned before. from there is just practice practice practice.

So you just struck lvl 60 and started collecting lores, right?

Make sure to finish Midas normal, then, the item to get the lore i230 drops from the 4th floor there, but you need 7 of them and you can only get 1 a week. The weapon also costs 1k lores, so that means you can buy 1 accesory or belt + 1 pair of gloves, shoes or hat + 1 body or legs piece before saving lores for the weapon. This way you'll have the lores for the weapon on your 6th week and get your weapon early on the 7th.

You can use the dummies in the SSS feature to check up how much you've improved your DPS with your new weapon.

Not sure what the SSS feature is and im on PS4 so i cant run ACT even if i wanted too. I just asked if anyone was parsing at the end of that alex run and a guy was kind enough to tell me i came in at 1088 second to a BLM. Again thanks for yet again more useful info. I would've spent everything all wrong most likely. I already spent the 375 lore

To be fair, I'm finding your original post a little unclear....

You say that you are performing your rotation flawlessly and then ask what can be done to improve your DPS. Since you haven't provided any information on how you play the job, we can't really give you any suggestions on how to optimize it. You aren't using a useful cross-class skill, for instance, which may give people doubts. I don't think it was out of line for someone to provide tips on keeping Huton active and making sure you use Venoms when the thread title asks for tips.

Assuming that you are executing an optimal rotation, the next step would be to look at gear. However now you are stating that your issue is that you feel you have no direction within the large amount of content available. I'm not really sure that asking for help with your DPS was going to get you help with that as it's a separate issue. If your brother is a hardcore raider, is he not able to provide you with direction? I could see someone sending you to the forums for rotation advice if they are not familiar with a job, but it sounds like you're asking for general progression advice.

I don't mean for this to sound rude if it does, I'm genuinely just not sure exactly what kind of assistance you are looking for to help increase your DPS as the thread title states.

the red flags im talking about is it looks extremely likely that you buy gil, as you are a somewhat low rank in your fc, have only had 2 1/2 weeks of play time by your words, and are wearing crafted gear that depending on the market can cost an upwards of 15 mil.

as for coming off condescending, no, i wasnt. its alarming the number of people that dont do the first thing i listed, then complain when their dps is low.

Ahhh. My apologies then, nah my brother has a stupid amount of gil like hundreds. He gave me some to get gear and 15m sounds about right maybe a little more.

Have to agree, hard to tell where we can help you simply because we don't know what you consider a flawless rotation. In terms of your gear, yes, simply upgrading your gear will help out when you don't have it maximized. I can't talk too much on this, my NIN is not my priority focus and is still in the ilvl 200's. I've been focusing my time on other things. My first thoughts would be to make sure you are maximizing the vulnerability time when you use TA, keep DoTs sustained, keeping your ninjitsu's on cooldown, upkeep huton through armor crush and ensuring you hit positional's. Otherwise, it'll pretty much all be about the gear. But I'd find it hard to believe you have a flawless rotation if 1088 DPS. Honestly not trying to insult or anything, I've yet to even do A4 on anything aside from my tank, but I know the NIN I played with hit 1300-1500 and that was before 3.2 came out. So he was geared around 208 at that time I believe.

By flawless i meant i wasnt clipping dots or letting huton fall off. Completely forgot TA so thanks for that tip. Sucky thing about PS4 is limited bar space. Would not using jugulate hurt my dps alot? I can put TA where jugulate is.

Use the expanded controls (L2 + R2 and R2 + L2) on the cross-hotbar. I play on PC, but use a controller and am able to fit every ability, including a Potion on my Hotbar without issue. I have Shukuchi macro'd to R3 for quick and easy use. I do have Venoms on a separate bar only because there is little need to stance-dance while in combat. I'll add a pic of what my setup looks like when I get a chance, if that would help.

Edit: Here's my cross-hotbar. I'm no photoshop expert, so excuse the setup, I just threw it together:



My main combo abilities are all used with R2. I hold L2 if I want to combo into Shadow Fang or Dancing Edge. I have the 2 vertical hotbars on the left just so that I can see certain cooldowns at all times (and when Assassinate lights up).

Hot bar setups will be different for everyone, since it really needs to fit to your comfort and play style, but I'm simply showing this as an example that you can have every available for use. There isn't a need to sacrifice an ability (such as Jugulate, in your previous post).
