Also since it'd be automatic, it would include the message in question with no user input, so there would no be room for falsifying it.

Add to this a temporal ban for all public chat functions, if receiving too many reports in short time. This could exclude FC channel, party chat and linkshells. Legitimately reported spammers propably wouldn't be in any of them (or if they were, they'd be easy enough to kick). But if someone was falsely banned for some reason it wouldn't cripple their game while they were clearing it up.
How hard would it be someone with friends to abuse that system and shut people down just for the fun of it? Don't get me wrong I fee that SE should be more proactive so they don't have to be reactive about the spam but I don't think the temp ban for global changes is an option

Not hard at all. But since the copy of the reported message is sent along the report, it would be no brainer for the moderator to see it was unjustified when a person disputes it. That would mean a period when person can't use public chat channels to one person, and possibly lengthy ban for everyone who reported them since all of this leaves tracks, tracks that can't be falsified like screenshots or copy paste can. Also the amount needed for the autoban should be considerable, at least 50, maybe even in the hundreds range. Would someone to risk getting a whole linkshell banned just for kicks?

If you say 'pls' because it's shorter than 'please', I say 'no' because it's shorter than 'yes'.

    Agree.
Really the idea is to put the FF online gaming community in to the solution mix, with a quick verification by the company/employees. That puts a chuck of the work including the noticing a spam message and reporting in to the distributed hands of the gaming community.
