Of course, I always will now. Unfortunately there's nothing I can do now and the OP probably can't do anything either without concrete proof.

Unfortunately, that is most likely true.

As a Free Company master, hearing about these situations makes me wonder how the company masters in question fool people for so long, and always makes me worry about it souring people on free companies in general. That would be a bad assumption for people to make, but of course no matter how many good FC masters there are, the bad ones can still overshadow the good, because people are more apt to remember the bad over the good.
