Did Alex Midas 4 as sch today for the first time, the other healer was an ast, the thing was he refused to do any aoe healing. When I asked him he said he was afraid of pulling from the tank. With me, the thought of pulling boss from the tank by healing never crosses my mind, in the end I was using my cool downs almost every time while he was healing 1 by 1, it ended with abandoning the trial T.T

Not saying he was right and I know this happened in PF but related to pulling hate from tanks I ripped hate from the MT in Sephirot ex after two medicas used once after each aoe. Boss turns around immediately and busts me one hit. Everyone was like o_o Some tanks just can't hold hate lolDid Alex Midas 4 as sch today for the first time, the other healer was an ast, the thing was he refused to do any aoe healing. The only time you should be wary of pulling aggro in M4 is right after Brute Justice forms. Since it's a new mob and has a new aggro table, an AoE happy healer can easily rip aggro before the tank can establish enmity (Especially that WHM Med2 overheal) but it shouldn't be any more than a couple seconds at most.Did Alex Midas 4 as sch today for the first time, the other healer was an ast, the thing was he refused to do any aoe healing. Thank you for your words. I know I shouldn't dwell on people like that, but it's difficult not to sometimes. Particularly when I was having a good time and they ruined it. I know I need to not always be in DPS tunnel vision and pay attention to mechanics, but at the same time, I'm still learning. I do want to be good, though, at everything I can be good at. I just have high expectations for myself.
My friend said its better if there's a ranged only because a lot of melee are focused on keeping up rotations/buffs and whatnot, but he never said it was a definite rule either. He usually takes care of them, but he was in a DPS off with another DPS, I think.I would love to have/be a part of a static, but I'm no professional raider, and I really just want to do raids casually with friends and be able to have a laugh if we start derping.
But thank you too for your words and advice. ;; I kind of like to know mechanics beforehand just so I don't mess up/get yelled at or kicked by people, but I always say if I'm new or not. I try to do new content with friends that have already done it so that they can explain things to me. :> Since I don't always think to watch videos on stuff like that because I'm eager to progress in-game.

You and me both. q.q
In all honesty, I can relate to what you're describing. And I would strongly encourage you to seek a static via PF if that's what you're looking for. I stumbled upon a ton of great people after I overcame some "inner demons" and put up a PF seeking a static. It felt like reaching out was all I had to do. Those great people are my good friends today, and we raid frequently together while learning and having a good time. And it feels so fulfilling.
Being at the mercy of high expectations is something I think I will struggle with for the rest of my life though. It's a peeve of mine I'm sure you're familiar with. >.<

On the JP servers, the OT handles the bombs. Tell that group to git gud too since their method isn't the most efficient either. So as of...night before last, I started Alex Midas. Anyways, I needed my drop from A5, so a friend (MNK) and I (BRD) queued for it. I've only ran it maybe two or three times before this, and I was still trying to learn certain aspects of it and really get it down.
Anyways, my friend usually took care of the bombs, and I'd never had to before. He'd explained it to me, but having never tried it, I still wasn't quite sure (I only really learn by doing). Well, we're going through the last boss like usual, and I'm focused on my little rotation I've been working on (and watching my DoTs), and apparently one of the healers was grabbing the bombs (didn't know this). Well another DPS started yelling at me about not doing mechanics and how I needed to do my job and stuff, and my friend spoke up and told him I was still relatively new to Midas and still learning mechanics. This DPS's response was: "Well it's been out three weeks and it isn't hard so that's no excuse." And then continued to yell at me the rest of the raid even though we didn't wipe or anything (yeah some of us died but I don't think that was even from the bombs...not sure though).
I try really hard to be good at any job I'm doing, be it healer, DPS, or tank, and I always try to follow mechanics in dungeons even if myself/the party can survive without doing so. But I have to do a couple runs of dungeons/raids to really get stuff down, and since we kinda just blew through A5-A8 two nights ago, and then I didn't do them again until a few hours ago, I forgot some things. I know if I had handled the bombs and somehow messed them up, I would have gotten yelled at anyways, but it's stuff like this that just makes me not even want to try raids at all. Because people expect everyone to do these things the moment they're released, or they just expect you to know automatically all the mechanics and how to do them.
I know now what to do with bombs, and I told my friend I will just try harder next time, but he still said it was unfair of the other DPS to stand and yell at me when he could have just as easily grabbed bombs too. I know it's better for ranged to do it, but...idk. Just really put me down after I'd been having a good time casually raiding with friends.
I'll just keep trying harder.
My SCH friend handles the bombs. Let's me keep DPSing...My friend said its better if there's a ranged only because a lot of melee are focused on keeping up rotations/buffs and whatnot, but he never said it was a definite rule either. though when I'm not with her I usually just wait to see who does them. I don't like to do them. What, just as a bard doesn't mean I don't have buffs or DOTS to manage either?
Hmm.
I mean I WILL do them if no one else does because that way at least I know we won't wipe to stupid stuff.

Clearly, the best Final Fantasy character is Locke Cole.
Glamour is TRUE ENDGAME

Ran World of Darkness as BLM, and as always I eyeball the limit break gauge real hard during Cloud of Darkness and see if anyone else uses it when it hits 3 (and someone always does). Well, nobody took it this time, so when those 3 meteors(? stars? I don't even remember what they are anymore) with the barriers came up I immediately slammed down that caster lb3 right in the middle of the arena to wipe out all 3.
Best.
Feeling.
EVER.
A handful of people in Alliance chat expressed regret that they couldn't comm the caster who used that lb3. (Funnily enough I didn't get comms from my actual party.) Despite rolling garbage on the orchestrion roll, I walked out of there feeling like a champ.

me: DRK
ran Ravana EX with a scrub ass PLD who died from Blinding Blade - managed to acquire 3 vuln stacks and popped zero CD's, also refused to pass MT.
proceeds to get salty with me and the healers, like uh??? dumbass, you had several options lol.
healers raise her, she just /sits and is like 'no point in trying, have fun 7-manning hurr hurr'
group proceeds to 7-man
