Give Us a New Companion: Deftarm

AH i misunderstood, my bad. Yes that is very annoying (although i'm new so my queue times aren't that long), same with some quests/dutys, i don't know why the companion is just not disbanded when starting them.

Just because our only companion now is a mount doesn't mean all future companions have to be as well :P

I'm all for this idea, more companions would be wonderful and Deftarm is an awesome character to start that process off with.

Stupid question but why do people love Deftarm so much? I'm personally kinda neutral on the guy. His story was fun but he isn't any more prominant than any other NPC.

They should let us recruit 1 NPC (and be able to select which class we want) from each beast-tribe and that way we can form our own parties to do content with and then level them up to where they can turn the classes into jobs (save the vath mch) :3
Sylph = cnj/thm
Kobald = mrd/cnj/thm
Sahagin = lnc/thm
Amalj'aa = pug/blm/arc/lnc
Ixali = gld/mrd/arc/thm
Vanu = pug/thf/cnj
Vath = mch/thm

I think his lack of prominence is part of the reason he's loved, his humility is an attractive quality. But mostly I think it's because finding who you are and discovering a purpose in life are such universal concepts.

I'm in for the Chocobo and queuing, and ever better if we can have him as a partner inside easy 4-man dungeons, to replace those who can stay AFK waiting to be kicked, trolling, etc..

Perhaps when Grand Companies Mercenaries will be there in patch 6.0, they'll allow it yay! ^^

and for that NPC as companion.. I'd rather have the option to choose, and so far having Thancred improved version as DPS and Y'shtola as healer.

with my Tank boyfriend, we would have a blast!

ahhhh, so it's kinda... moreso about how they can associate with him, huh? XD I guess I can see that. He is loveable, but I just found him kinda the same as the other beast tribes. Still, that makes a lot more sense to me, thank you.

ahhh so that's an idea! when you reach bloodsworn on any beast tribe you can acquire a companion of that beast tribe, like a Vanu or a sylph that all do different things, omg that would have people flocking to all tribes
