Most of the responses are just Katanas being weapons for Samurais in FF, which is almost for sure next in-line.

Looking it up on the wiki Great Katanas were in fact weapons for Samurai, while regular Katanas were actually ninja. Katana styled weapons I can see for DRK (as CoolCat said the Law weapon is currently the closest to such), its more likely they won't be getting them/more then two if we count Law as one.

Now if Samurais instead use Katanas one-handed then I would see that as meaning DRKs would be getting the two-handed versions.

What I was hoping for, though I guess being technically a botanist "Weapon" guess Great Scythe is always an option. Though at this point I would imagine it would be an entirely different class if they did.

Personally, I enjoy DRKs in this game using great swords. It reminds me more of Cecil from FFIV. I'd rather see scythes go to another job in the future.

Idk if you guys recall the DRK law weapon, but it was a katana and samurai is coming so you best hold onto it. I got the feeling that DRKs will use scythes in the future.
