Not sure exactly which pictures you're referring to but for mine I sometimes use /gpose which gives a nice background blur effect thing. I also edit some of them in a paint program to enhance the lighting, saturation, shadows, etc.
You can also change the setting to save as .png for higher quality screenshots.

Mine are png, but they look so bad didn't realize /gpose gave a blur might try it tbh. PS using photoshop is cheating =D

lol Also I play in max settings with DX11 not sure what your graphics settings are.. Anyways play around with some options and see what happens!

Hmm i have done ill see what Dx11 options but im 100% sure everything is maxed out, maybe i need to force settings with the card.

Well, photoshop is the most common thing, I suppose, a lot of people edit their screenshots to make them even prettier :P
But you can also make your whole game look different with programs like SweetFX or ReShade. Those are like photoshop for the game itself XD
I use SweetFX with my own settings that make colors a bit more bright and saturated and add a few other effects. Gives me less job to do with my screenshots plus playing like this feels nice^^

Does SweetFx work well with the 64 bit windows now? I had looked into that years ago, but I vaguely remember that being an issue, and just never checked back. It really can make your games look amazing.

I find some areas in Heavensward seem to have a high contrast filter, I notice it more-so in dungeons but I think it exists in some open world zones. I really noticed it in Steps of Faith when it first came out.

Both of these are unedited and depending on your screen's settings the color difference might be more noticeable. My boyfriend's monitor doesn't really show the color difference, but both mine do. o.o

For the most part, I think some posts are edited a bit before posting. I generally don't edit mine out of laziness, but I do at least pop them through a contrast filter and/or crop them before posting them on tumblr.

As Ruri mentioned, /gpose adds a blur to the background which, depending on your taste, can either enhance the photo or not so much. Some people find the blur helps bring the focus to your character and give depth and others think it just looks like whoever is viewing has bad vision. XD

I also find the lighting in this game really helps to make some outstandingly beautiful screenshots. As long as you have the Glare setting on at least minimum the sun effects are crazy gorgeous.

I'm sure running on DX11 helps makes things look much better, I'm still using DX9 because my computer is a toaster. ;c So I try to work with what the game already gives me as much as I can.
