even if I have the right to have only 1 cross class doesnt mean I cant switch. I use cleric stance as first cross class but when I run low level I switch give protect switch back to cleric and i am good...no need to bother with that again...it is pretty easy to do. I ask for a few secs to get out of CD and there we go.

Yeah, I know ^^ But not everyone does that. In the beginning, back when I was thinking I'd main PLD, I always kept Protect and/or Stoneskin on, and when I went as a healer or dps, I kept expecting GLA/PLD tanks to do the same and use those. But no ;_; So that's when I started to use Protect and/or Stoneskin on my dps classes. And why I'm often running stuff as archer or lancer even now when I'm slowly creeping upwards in levels ^^;

On that note, I should probably do my BRD quests to gain new skills (the only one I've done is the level 30 one, and I'm 44 now). And I should probably unlock DRG... At some point ^^; (And before someone thinks to berate me for that: No, I don't play them often, and even more rarely in dungeons with strangers.)

Had a fun run this morning before heading to bed. Me and my flatmate are altoholics, and I have the maximum of 8 characters on Phoenix, though two of them are ones I don't play and just use these days to try out Fantasia possibilities before wasting any of my precious potions on my actual characters. So anyways... We were doing the 2.4 MSQ on one pair of alts, working on getting them to HW. Unlock Snowcloak and figure that with how late it was (closer to 7am) it'd probably take a while to get in, but we might as well queue up and see what'd happen. Surprisingly, we get an almost instapop.

Since we're still not top geared (around i105-i110), I decide to do "half pulls". By the time we've downed the first pull and I get ready to pull the wolves, the SMN in the group asks who the new person is. I say that I'm new, but on an alt so I know the place, at the same time as my flatmate says that we both are "new". While I'd expected the SMN to have asked the question due to the "OMG SCRUB NOOBS" mentality that some people seem to have, he is then upset by the fact that there are two new people.... because he usually commends the new person for giving him bonus tomes xD And now he can't, because he can't commend both of us.

It was a good run; I use up all my TP and MP on Flash and Overpower to avoid losing aggro to the synched SMN or WHM, and even if I get scarily close sometimes and even lose one or two mobs (usually by the time they're close to death) there's no particular chaos, which is a relief. I can even take a few seconds here and there to throw out a comment or response in the party chat.

I've been burned by DF parties before (just earlier with that alt pair, we got a MNK in Ramuh HM who first pulled before us tanks had time to quickly agree on MT, and then after death took two or three Raises to get to her feet, after which not a single attack was performed, just random running around behind and to the side of Ramuh... doing "positionals" *rolls eyes*), but this group did a lot to patch that up ♥

Day One leveling LNC in HW, level 50:

Trial roulette, goes by fine. DRG in party doesn't use any DOTs and I out DPS him somehow.
Fitty roulette, tank leaves immediately, no words. Friend jumps off BRD and goes onto PLD. Easy run. BLM that replaces DPS asks why I don't have DRG. I answer with "I don't have MRD unlocked" and he replies with "XD". A few accidental macros go off.... very funny. Good group.
Leveling roulette, in progress SV. Two people who speak French so I can understand them but not really communicate. SMN constantly heals everyone and the AST spams Bene II. Ask same friend to tank because I'm tired and want to go to bed. We get through it. I ask the SMN at the end why Physick so much. He replies with roughly that he was helping. I leave.
MSQ roulette, boring. Still can't run very fast because crap FPS but no one cared.

I leveled.

Pray tonight I don't get Dusk Vigil in Leveling Roulette because I don't want to deal with that.

Firsly, he had Ifrit egi, why not.

I'm told Ifrit does more damage than Garuda. The majority of summoners use Garuda for her Contagion, though, and only if they're smart enough to keep her on Obey.

At least they were successfully vote dismissed. I think the majority of players who lazily spam a single skill over and over bank on the possibilities people either won't notice, or will just resign themselves to carrying them because they don't want to make a fuss or wait for a replacement.

You can lvl by doing fates and when you hit 60 just do your msq and job mission. Most people don't read and just skip CS whenever is possible.

The Story requires you to complete a lot of dungeons and Trials. I just find it baffling that people manage to go through ALL that content and still be terribly at things they should have learned at a very low level.

I don't post very often, but just had to share my annoyance and confusion.

I was running Vault to get my MCH to 60, a no-talking run, but everything's going fine, only that at the second boss, I get a brief dc. Thankfully I was able to sign right back in, not even a "you're still logged in" message, and help to finish off the boss, even say "woops sorry about that" as a dc takes away the LB (so I feel bad). Loot's rolled on, we continue on to the next mob pull, no one says anything, then...

I get dismissed?

No warning or anything, just, poof, I'm kicked, when it's clear that I'm fighting and contributing again. I'm honestly baffled. Not the worst thing to have happened, I know, but it still left me baffled and annoyed.

So just if anyone from that run happens to see this: thanks a lot for the long queue again.

I ran Sastasha NM with two IRL friends. One was on his very first character and was GLD. The other was a higher-level still-kinda new PLD who was picking up PGL for the lolz. Both were lvl 15. I was healing on WHM (33 synched down)

We got a random PGL. With a sprout.

This is GLD's first dungeon ever and it wouldn't have been hard to figure it out. The random queues in and we all say Hi and her response is, "Hey Larryvon gonna pull ever?" I'm like...well, that escalated quickly.

We're making our way through the dungeon slowly. My friend on PGL notices that the random isn't hitting positionals. Seeing the sprout, he says, "Hey, did you know you do more damage if you hit from behind? " their response is, "I know, XD I've been playing since early beta" and at this point I'm like, so you've basically admitted that you're lazy because it's sastasha, but you're superior enough to be a thorn in the side of a new tank when they don't run straight ahead? Peachy.

So I say to my friends in FC chat, "I really don't like this chick, she's bossy and lazy and is kinda entitled."

And my friend on PGL says, "Yeah, she isn't even trying to hit her positionals."

In party chat. /facepalm Me in FC chat: "Party chat, dude"

Random girl, "...excuse me?"

My friend, "Ah, Kela just asked what I was talking about earlier. She doesn't play PGL. Wrong chat, lol" in FC chat: "I totally just lied"

She seemed to buy it (I'm dying of laughter), but she continues with her entitled attitude (which we ignore) all the way to the end of the dungeon. Even though she's playing lazy and has a bad attitude, it's not worth fighting it. It's Sastasha, whatever. We prolly could have cleared if she literally did nothing.

After the boss clear, I run straight to the exit and type "BYE FELICIA" in the party chat before I zone out. Which was petty of me. But hilarious.

Yeah I'm a newish smn, only started playing it seriously with HW, but I learned a lot and have a decent understanding of it. I don't understand when ppl roll their eyes when they Iffy is out, considering his radiant shield and autoattacks which make him superior to Ruda. Yes, contagion, I get it. But even on expert dungeons and pulling everything, there is no time to fully benefit from contagion, things just melt away, except the odd one that only needs a bio recast. The tank with radiant shield already adds even more dps with counters, Iffy hits like on steroids, I personally have no reason to call Ruda unless the monster is constantly moving around. And whenever I'm on my healer and have a smn with Ruda, things just don't melt away as fast as expected. That's just my experience though.

Anyways, levelling roulette on my kitty alt as whm, pop into Tamtara with a mrd, thm and lnc. Mrd starts pulling and after the second group, asks in party to please attack the tardet he is hitting first. Ok then, he pulls next group and starts getting anxious about the lancer not hitting his target. Thm for some reason quits and the tanks proceeds to c all the lancer a retard and how he should listen to him. I notice the lancer's name and it's "something pig" in spanish.
So I say in party that he probably can't listen cause he might not speak english. "Even a retard knows to hit the same target a tank hits". Another thm pops in surprised about the ranting she got into and defends the lancer. I then say "when I was new I didn't even know what a tank was lol" and suggest to mark the mobs, which I do since the tank is too busy beranting the lancer, who in all this, didn't say a word bless him.
We keep on, I mark the mobs and everything is golden. Lancer attacks number one, then two, and so on but tank still isn't happy but eventually shuts up thank the twelve.
I'm just thinking god, I hope I don't meet this guy again at 60, if he's so primadonna and entitled, can't imagine when he's 60...
Gave my commendation to the lancer btw, poor soul, he was doing fine after all.

Day Two leveling LNC in HW, level 51:

Trial roulette - couldn't even hit anything since the boss didn't appear on my screen. Thanks game client.
Leveling roulette - Toto-rak. I hate this dungeon so much, so I turned off my UI and took a bunch of pics.
MSQ roulette - Same as always.
Fitty roulette - Bard asks why I don't have my DRG. I say "I don't have mrd leveled." Replies with they don't "play with lazy people" and just leaves. Fine, whatever. MNK joins instead and we clear Haukke Manor HM in like 20 minutes.

I leveled again.
I really don't want Sohm Al I mean even if I had my soulstone I'd be pretty bad; just ask my DRG alt. I'm awful.

I seriously don't even know where to begin on this last run I had. Went into Solm Al hoping to maybe perhaps get lucky with a gaelkitten drop. It was late, but i thought, "hey, one more quick run". Over an hour later... I'm writing this. Got in, said hi. We got PLD (me), WHM, NIN, and a BRD. The other 3 were appropriately geared for solm al, with 125-145 ilvl gear. So i pull the mobs and we get started. I bring the mobs near the plant so we can begin hacking away at it so the pods stop.... But instead, the team decided attacking the mob should be 1st priority (which meant I had to as well to prevent myself from losing aggro...). Fast forward about 2 minutes later (and NO adds killed yet), there's now a billion pods on the screen and I'm having a REALLY tough time tabbing through enemies while hitting them (i use a macro for my enmity rotation and it doesn't have a fail safe should I not have a target within range). So I just decided to move my screen so I could only see the mobs near me and started tabbing from there... This lead to a mistake on my part however as apparently one of those suckers got away from me. Next thing I know, I'm at 1/3hp and not getting healed. Look and see my healer is dead. I soon follow along with the DPS. Healer says wtf and I tell him sorry as I didn't notice an add had got away (once again, NOT A SINGLE ADD DIED DURING THIS) and there were so many pods, I limited my screen. I take the fault for this wipe and we go again. Once again, about 3 minutes later, we finally kill the 1st set of mobs.... I didn't want to be a jerk and say something, but my god, when your healer runs out of MP on the first mob trying to keep the tank alive, there is SOMETHING wrong with the DPS. I simply say, "Sorry, I'll pull smaller moving forward".

So, from here, I pull single mobs. We get through the next set fine and we're fine against the 1st boss (though, once again, it took longer than it should have). Next area. 1st pull, do single (it's just 2 enemies). I notice the NIN is standing next to me in front of the mobs and attacking 1, then the other... using his aeolean edge combo.... just kept going back and forth, back and forth... So I asked him if that was what he was doing (didn't even say he shouldn't or anything of the sort yet). He says no and that it's a NIN thing and I'd know that if I ever played one (btw, I have a lvl 60 NIN ilvl 190). I just ignore his comment and we move on. We get to the 2nd boss. Here's where everything went to hell. We quickly go over the color's (red stack, blue run away, green blob kill). The entire time I'm explaining to the healer (who asked), the NIN is slapping me. So I simply ask him what his problem is. He responds with "You're a bad tank"... great. Cool. I sigh and just say alright and we begin the fight. And wouldn't you know my luck. Red is almost always on myself or the healer. We're the only one's stacking... The BRD looked like she was trying, but she was always standing opposite from the healer and never made it in time. NIN usually ran towards us, then away before the hit. I thought maybe he was just mistiming... I learned later that he was not... Anywho, we wipe. Healer went down, you can guess what happens after that when the boss still has half his hp. We go back. Try again. This time, the green blob explodes because no one but myself went after it. So everyone's half health and the healer heals me first (which is nice i guess, but guess who took a shot to the face right after?). Healer dies, we wipe again. Sigh. We go back again... I remind them, red means stack, blue means run away, green we must kill. We finally make it through.

Next area... (can you feel my apprehension at this point?!). Knowing of my silly NIN companion at my side (who has now resorted to spamming marks above my head...) I continue to keep to my decision of smaller pulls. It took over a minute to kill the 2 mobs each, separately. Yes, you heard me. The 2 raptors.... they took about 2 minutes to kill (the NIN now very obviously attacking 1, then the other and not using DoTs or even finishing his combos). The next 2 blasts, pretty much the same thing. Except he got hit by their AoE numerous times (which I found funny). Next, the dragon that spawns. I pull, we kill, things seem fine now. Then I see the NIN walking up the stairs. I'm not near him. He pulls the Ero dragon.... I literally dropped my controller. Like, literally, just dropped it. I of course, did pick it up after the NIN took a slap to the face from the ero dragon and then we proceeded to kill them (painfully slow still i might add).

Ok... just the last boss. Dear god help me. Almost there (and there better be a damn kitty at the end of this horrible horrible tunnel!!). Do a ready check (and of course, NIN is slapping me during this) and we begin. The fight seems fine at first. However, when we got to the halfway point where you have to attack the bosses wings, I noticed something... The NIN was just standing there off to the side... doing nothing. He was fighting prior, so I thought to myself (I really need to stop doing that) maybe something happened. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. The wings are taking painfully long to take out and the boss does his party wide damage. The NIN dies (and I laugh) and we eventually take the wings out, but both DPS are down and the healer has less than half hp. I try to push through it, but the healer gets caught in an AoE trying to finish getting a heal through to me. We wipe. Running back, the marker above my head keeps switching from ignore 1 to ignore 2 (guess who's doing it). I finally snap. I put up a vote dismiss. It fails...
My thoughts... HOW?!?!?!?! HOW ARE WE NOT KICKING HIM?!
The NIN is gloating in chat now saying, "ha, nice try". Healer says, "come on, let's just finish this already". I tell him there's no way we can beat this boss without our 4th DPS doing anything and I tell them that if they won't dismiss the NIN who isn't doing anything, then I would leave instead. The NIN says, "Ha, I win". At this point, the BRD gets upset at me (really? me?!) for saying i'm leaving and leaves herself. A new BRD ironically comes in while I'm questioning the healer as to why he's defending the NIN when he's obviously wiping us. The new BRD comes up and is ready and raring to go and the NIN is saying he'll "get serious now". =_=

I say fine and go at it one more time. The fight goes through without any issues this time... I'm more livid honestly than happy to finish, because this made it VERY obvious that the NIN was purposefully wiping us and purposefully slowing down the entire dungeon run. He starts going off saying that he's a badass and that everything he did was purposefully (who brags about wiping the party 6-7 times?!). I just tell him he's a jerk and that he ended up causing the other BRD to miss on their dungeon run. I leave and get 2 of the comms. Which unless the NIN gave me one (I HIGHLY doubt it), meant the healer did. I looked up the NIN afterwards. He's the FC leader of a small FC and the healer was one of his members... REALLY?! You made your own FC member go through that many wipes purposefully?! Who does that to teammates?! I honestly felt bad for that healer that his own leader would put him through that.
