while levelling lol, it should fail in that case, you should have made level 50 items and not new items which give a lot of EXP.While I was leveling, for example, in basic gear for that level, mythrite nuggets did that. I had to manually spam synths to avoid losing half of my mats. The formula really is that broken. I never trusted quick synth for anything that I wasn't severely over-leveled for again after that.
pre-50 I could easily quicksynth the component mats for my current level crafts with no problem. 50-60 everything went to shit and I abandoned quicksynth entirely. There's still no reason you shouldn't be able to quicksynth a stack of whatever you're using at the time, and I'm too nervous to try it on anything at my level now even as a 60. I'm pretty sure if I went to quicksynth chimerical felt, for example, it would still ruin a majority of my manes. Quicksynth is that broken.
That sounds like the most likely reason someone would get frequent failures with what they thought was good gear — when they're wearing gear that would have been good if it were still functioning, but once broken is doing nothing for them.
Just made some quick synths, results:
Aurum Regis Nuggets: 7 HQ, 64 NQ, 0 Fail
Hardsilver Nuggets: 7 HQ, 83 NQ, 0 Fail
Hardsilver Ingots: 4 HQ, 88 NQ, 0 Fail
I'm in 2 star gear, but results are the same as they were when I was doing them in sub-red scrip gear.
Back when I had 50% on the nuggets it was mostly white 51. I haven't touched quick since then. 50% failure on a 2-synth component does that to you. Currently full HQ150 (lv59 belt) left side. Just starting scrips so no 170 yet. I can attempt a few felts to SEE how bad it is for me when I get on tonight, but the quicksynth issue is mainly a problem for people leveling 50-60 who don't have any real way to get the stacks of component materials they need for their daily crafts.
I think I had low success with titanium back when I was in full HQ lv55 left as well. It really is a leveling problem.
- By daily crafts do you mean GC daily turn ins? Those rarely use ingredients that are equal to your level, let alone above. Safe to quicksynth
- If the above is not the case, you'll probably want as many HQ ingredients as you can get.
- If you are actually leveling the craft, a simple macro can get you 2-4x the exp for doing it manual over quicksynth.
I agree with the OP. I'm a lvl 60 CUL with lvl 60 gear and a little while ago, I got a fail on my FISHMEAL...
