How do many of you feel about helping?

    BUT THEN...

    But you know, what....?

Is constant wipes enough for you to stop helping PUGs?
Does people who do more joking that fighting make you stop?
Are you the type who leave at the sign of "bonus" popping on the screen?

I'm just trying to gather some information.

I'm fine with joking about between pulls/wipe.
I don't leave when i see the "bonus" message because i know i've been there too before and people didn't bail out on me.

I don't mind helping as long as the person in need of help is open to potential criticism or tips.

I continue to help as long as progress is made or its for a friend or person I have devoted my time to, such as the mentor system. If its a PUG that is making no progress or just ignores advice, what more can I do?

Are you normally the only one in the group who have that mentality usually?

    Do you rage quit?
Do you say your goodbyes first before leaving?
Do you tell them you're done, give a little advice on the errors, then leave?
Do you tell them you're done, that they suck, then leave?

I can't say for sure, i'd like to think that i'm not. I'm only vocal with the whole "we've all been there" if i see players gang up on the new player.

Do you tell them you're done, give a little advice on the errors, then leave? At that point all my advice has already been given, nothing more to give.
Do you tell them you're done, that they suck, then leave? I don't insult them, nothing good is going to come of it.

I like helping people who try...
IE if you're hindering the group and I ask "do you need help" and you say "no" but you aren't making any effort to change or get better when clearly whatever you're doing isn't working....that makes me angry. If you say no but there's obvious improvement, then sure I'll stick around. If you say "yes" then obviously I'll help you.

I honestly don't mind wiping over and over and over as long as you're at least trying and we're making progress (even if it's slow).

If it honestly comes to me leaving then I just leave, not saying anything. I don't log out and pretend to DC (I hate it when people do this) I will just take my penalty and go. I rarely do this though...and I've done it more often because I wasn't feeling well or something like that, not because of the party.

Since finishing my second relic, helping PF groups is what I have been doing. It's a good way to meet people.

I don't think that too many people mind helping people.

Mind you helping does not include carrying those who won't try, or can't/won't take advice.

Then there are the times you join a clear group, only to realize when you get in that one of the people you are clearing is on your blist.

I try to help as much as possible. In my own ways. The last thing I helped someone/people with, were the Relic HQ items. Well, 3 people actually. 1 guy that didn't have the gil that was looking for a discount, I just flat out bought him every item he needed, another who was 300k off, and someone that couldn't get the fletchlings crafted because people wanted more tip wise.

I don't expect help when I play the game, and most certainly wasn't offered it when I first started in 2013, but I feel like maybe they'll pay it forward one day.

I always give new or inexperienced players the benefit out the doubt and/or offer help.
