Are the Leveilleur twins allowed to go home?

The only indication I can readily think of for their father's reaction to this is in Tales from the Calamity, which was rather vague, but I got the impression that if they went back, their father probably will have an "I told you so" in store for them.

Although if we ever get to go to Sharlayan in the future, it seems like it would be interesting. The way I see it, the forum has had their way with their stance of neutrality for the most part now. But if they weren't neutral, I'm fairly sure there would have been more than a few Sharlayans who sided with the Garleans for whatever reason, and Eorzea could just as easily have ended up in flames.

Sharlayan is already a place that you can visit currently, the ruins of the city are what make up the region called "Dravanian Hinterlands". Frankly the most obvious reason why alphinaud wouldn't see a point in going back there is because it is an abandoned ruined city that has now been overtaken by goblins.

There are actulay 2 Sharlayans. The state in the Old World and the colony they made in the aforementioned region, the reason the Hinterlands were abandoned was because once the empire made their aspirations known, the residents deem the colony worthless/a failure and went back to the original Sharlayan.

Yeah, the Sharlayan we visit in HW isn't the "real" Sharlayan, so to speak. It's just a colony.

Why couldn't they just name the colony New Sharlayan!

Yeah, I wasn't talking about the abandoned colony xD. In fact, this whole time I have never once been referring to the colony, but the Sharlayan that Alphinaud and Alisaie were raised in. They were born in the colony, but then their people packed up and left, so they were raised in the Sharlayan motherland.

Maybe mini-Sharlayan would work? Or Sharlayantown.

Because it just makes too much sense to have 2 distinct names that would have been easily distinguished from each other! They must obfuscate or die!
