Some interesting finds from the Ifrit Battle video

Some of you will already have realized it, but evidently quite a few things have changed in 1.19.

- The Hyur Gladiator has almost double the MP of the Lala Gladiator (see 1:00)
- The Lala Marauder is called "Lalafel Exc" (Executioner)
- Even the mages have more than 2k HP
- Taking Ifrit's charge head-on is no good idea (1:00).
- Ifrit casts "traps" (lava pits) on the ground that explode after a few seconds (1:33)
- In the final cutscene, the aetheryte gets destroyed (good catch!), so possibly we will have to fight against the empire for control of certain map features (such as access to named aetherytes)

Anything I missed?

i read in the other thread that in japan mrd is called executioner. So that would explain the second point

You also missed that:
- He splits into 3
- At 1.52 he spawns like these spike things which are tar-gettable.

I'm guessing those spikes are related to the clones in some way? If you kill those maybe he wont split anymore.

After looking again, those spikes could also be the source of one of Ifrit's AoE attacks, as they disappear after he uses the attack.

Marauder is Executioner in Japan, it's been said a gazillion times already and people still forget it every time a new video comes out... lol

As I and someone else mentioned in the other thread...my guess is that the increase in HP/MP is due to the removal of physical levels and re-balancing of the stats.

The battle clearly goes through a number of phases with strategy required for each part. It is most likely parties will have to experience being wiped a few times.

the fact the hyur glad has 400mp more than the lallafell glad is very mysterious,

maybe the hyur glad has certain materia? but it seems hard to believe that would yield an extra 400mp

Well, the gate and you standing in the line of fire. Somehow you get teleported away though (the animation effect is a sort of reddish colour so it could be Ifrit saving you? That wouldn't really make sense though considering we have to fight him after).
