Jerks in PVP

Just wondering why some people just have to be jerks in PVP. I'm talking about Seal Rock here. I understand that it's not fun to lose, but c'mon, if you're pugging the thing there's no reason to get all bent out of shape when your team isn't as coordinated as a premade.

And man, when I ask for some commendations, be nice enough to do a few clicks and give it to me? Someone the other day said "I will if you're good." Well wtf. How do I "prove" I'm good enough to get a commendation?

Especially when I'm the only tank in the group. How do you quantify my contribution and compare it to other classes? And it's not like you can watch me play the whole time.

Not that I don't think its great to have organized play in pugs, with someone calling shots and people defending/capping nodes instead of fighting and chasing, but man do some of the peeps who take this sh it too seriously irk me.

If you were that serious, get into balmung or gilgamesh and join pvp linkshell and run some premades.

Do you thank me when I Thrill of War to save you? Or limit break right before cometeor storms hit? Should I shout in alliance chat so that I get recognized and "earn" a commendation?

For heavensakes, if someone asked me for a commendation, I'd just give it to him or her so he or she can achieve in-game goals.

You know what? I might just transfer to gilga or balmung and find some non-jerks to pvp with so I wouldn't have to deal with smug players.

For everyone who was nice enough to give me a commendation, thank you. I wish I could gather all of you into one server and invite you all into a linkshell.

Most of the time people don't commend cause they are trying to catch the queue train. If you don't you can look forward to another hr long queue at least on my data center. That's why so many just leave immediately after the match is over without saying a word or looking at stats or anything like that. Can thank SE for making the queues work the way they do forcing things like this.

i always give a commendation at the end of every duty except all the people were really really bad or unfriendly, because it's only a few clicks. but i NEVER give any commendations to a person who asks for it. that's just cheap begging (and also not fair for the other people).

Like, we haven't even done the duty yanno? How do I know you're good? In the end I'd probably NOT give it to you.

Uh, yeah actually. Commendations aren't free. You have to earn them. Why would you think otherwise?

I find myself getting atleast 1 commendation per match. Not sure why since I'm not top kill-rate, but I can't complain

Because it's ridiculous to think otherwise within the context of how the game is played? People don't give ANYONE commendations. It's immediate quit after the pvp match or dungeon is over. If it really was a merit system, people treated it as such, and said system actually gave enough information for people to make a decision, then yeah, it is something that should only be given out when earned. But as it is, it's just a useless feature that no one really cares about. Why not just give it to someone if that person can benefit from it? You're not losing anything.
