Now my hoarding of wands I can't use are justified. Thank you!

Why not just give CNJ/WHM/THM/BLM a purely cosmetic Shield? You could create the a purely cosmetic Shield weapon models with a 2H by default but also an option to use it 1H if the cosmetic shield is equipped. It's not like you'd need new animations. Make it possible to glamour 1H appearance (and animations) to 2H weapons and allow us to equip a cosmetic shield that we can glamour any other CNJ/WHM/THM/BLM shield to. That way you never have to worry about creating more 1H CNJ/WHM/THM/BLM weapons and shields, and you satisfy everyone that likes them.Thank you for the continued feedback regarding the ability to glamour one-handed conjurer and thaumaturge's weapons over two-handed ones. As we've mentioned in the past, the dev. team continues to look into this.
**snip**
The dev. team is currently working on this and aiming for release in Patch 3.2. After you give these new two-handed versions a swing, let us know how you feel about them!
That way you only ever need to put the stats on the weapon and with a purely cosmetic shield there is no itemization issue. That way players have the option of using their 1H weapon glamours on a 2H weapon and keeping their shield - because you know, some of us like the style.
Basically I like my 1H mage weaponry, and won't be trading them in. I just wish that rather than sweeping 1H mage weapons and shields under the carpet, SE could do something to preserve that look and feel for the players who enjoy it.

What's difficult about giving Wands/Staves the same treatment that multiple-slot equipment got? Wands/Staves already use the exact same combat animations.
One potential issue I see with this, if you glamour a single handed wand on top of a 2 handed staff, you won't be able to glamour a shield as well to complete the look.

It doesn't matter whether you figure it out or not, it should be enough that there are players that enjoy that aesthetic.

If SE did something like I suggested above, it would not interfere with their plans going forward, and would not affect players like you who don't understand or like 1H weapon/Shield use.

When you say a 2 handed version of the 1 handed wands, are you literally gonna take the 1 handed model and give it 2 handed weapon stats? Or is this going to be the same as how DRK swords are massive versions of the PLD swords? Cause I really don't want that, I personally don't care about the shield but I like the wands as they are.
I'm concerned about this as well. The moogle conjurer weapon, for example, would probably look awful if stretched out to a staff's size. When you say a 2 handed version of the 1 handed wands, are you literally gonna take the 1 handed model and give it 2 handed weapon stats? Why must this happen?
I'd much rather see more one handed weapons come out than to do away with them altogether.
From the live letter, they've mentioned in 3.2 that Paladins will have shields drop alongside the swords, so they don't need to chase after two drops instead of one. Why not apply this to the mages and give them single handed options again?
