I can't answer your first question, but BattlePing, WTFast, PingZapper, Mudfish, etc. all reroute your connection through their nodes to avoid issues likes this. They always provided solutions, but people often jump onto the hate bandwagon without understanding what the applications actually do but that lies on the fault of WTFast and their misleading advertising. The game is almost unplayable from Australia without it for me after getting used to the improved ping.

The thing about this is, almost anyone you would ever speak to on the phone or in another support channel would have extremely little knowledge on what Level 3 even is, or even what a hop is. They simply do not get the training for this, and anyone who does isn't someone that speaks to end users such as yourself.

^ This. I've worked tech support for internet, and it's pretty much entirely hardware based. Anything worse gets sent up the line as ticket, and if Tier 2 wants to talk to you, they\ll call you at THEIR convenience.

When I tracert from work I get like 6 hops, no level3 and almost instant response from every hop. From home on Comcast it resembled your trace. The point is that the problem is a combination of crappy routing, and congestion. Apparently ISPs are quite happy to screw over paying customers without the word Incorporated after their name. So consumers get the least costly - to the ISP - routes regardless of pergormance and latency, while businesses get bumped to the nice, clean high performance routes with fewer hops.

If you have a comcast provider I believe people are having this issue outside of 14 as well. I lose internet around midnight for everything, though I haven't been on 14 as of late so it may be different. goodluck and stuff

I think comcast has been throttling it lately.

My receiving has been quadruple what I'm sending for about a week, I've started using the trial version of WTFast and so far have not had any problems since using it. I have Comcast as well and it only occurs after 6pm.

"no lag issues in Canada" I beg to differ. If anything, plagued with 90,001 and 90,002 errors. My husband plays on PS4 and I play on PC and we're constantly dc'ing at different times. He dc's more than I do on PS4 which is really weird. Why 2 people on the same internet, in the same house, never dc at the same is a funny and hilarious problem in the middle of savage! It's the absolutely worst on Sundays around 9:15 pm ATL time. Go Go Rogers.
