I'm rather new and felt I should introduce myself!

HI.

With that out of the way!... I play on Odin, anyone have any juicy gossip about that realm!?

Also, I'm a marauder. A terrible one apparently. I ran the first few guildhests but couldn't hold aggro from all the mobs as it took away my overpower for the level ten ones... Yay.

So if anyone has any tips for a dumb, but highly sexy marauder, please share.

My only tip would be to pick up gladiator for a few levels once you reach Ul'Dah.
Flash is a great substitute for Overpower when you're level synced below Overpowers level. And you'll get Provoke as well, needed at higher levels, or if something just gets lost in the fray.

Other than that, nothing much else save for a few FATEs will actually sync you below Overpower again, even the first dungeon lets you keep that. So you shouldn't have much issue carrying forward! Let that axe become an extension of your body and feel the beast within!

Odin/Lamia/Behemoth/Gilgamesh aren`t good servers with helpfully people. You should try Balmug or a Japanese server that have players that help newests and don`t offend you like saying that you are ''noob''. Good Lucky man.

Ah, shame. They'll just have to get used to me and my happy /helpful attitude. I have a friend that plays on it, that's why I'm there.

I shall change the realm, one person at a time! Bwahaha!

Welcome to Eorzea Rakar! We need more people like you spreading happiness around the realm!

I also second what Cana said about levelling GLA - not only for the abilities you can use like Flash, but also because it is needed for you to truly unlock your potency by gaining the Warrior (WAR) Job for your Marauder at level 30, which requires GLA to also be at level 15 before you can gain the quest.

Other than that, keep going back to the Guild for a quest every five levels, and also keep doing the storyline (the quests with the flaming meteor icon), as they unlock new content and allows you to expand your horizons (literally, you gain access to things such as airship travel to the other cities, gaining your own chocobo/mounts and other stuff).

First off welcome to probably the best online game you'll ever play...Secondly while i highly agree with you choosing marauder as your first tank job i'd recommend leveling a paladin first(gladiator+conjourer level 34) why you ask? because while warrior is the easier of the two tank jobs to handle you pretty much get everything from the start it's alot easier for a warrior to hold aggro then it is a gladiator PLD you learn what it takes to hold aggro and it gives you extra skills. for your aggro holding problem though what your gonna wanna do is always start with tomahawk to pull one then when the mob swarms pop overpower 3 times then do normal attacks with a extra overpower once after a rotation. fair warning warrior tends to have a few extra buttons to use then a paladin but all equally important FYI...try not to waste the stun on boss as it doesn't get affected by it unless you want a filler while you wait to use next skill in your rotation if your not pop your cooldowns

I just ran satasha successfully with no deaths, but I was too focused on holding aggro that I didn't use maim or my dot. Should I even use these on trash mobs? They seem to die too fast :/

I got gladiator to 8 for flash, came in handy since I pulled with tomahawk, used overpower once, then started my combo. I'll have to use overpower more it seems

Hey Rakar, I like your style. Just bought the game & been playing for a few hrs now as a lvl 9 Elezen Guardian in the Hyperion server & also would like to read any "juicy gossip" or heads-up 'bout Hyperion. Gotta few questions forya I'm sure you can answer if you'll indulge me: 1. When creating my character I didn't notice the "Job" selection & I'm wondering if there's a default? If not, is it worth it to delete the character at this lvl? 2. How do we delete a character? 3. I can't find anywhere in profile or settings an avatar option! What am I missing? Looking forward to your reply.

I'm assuming you mean in the forum, right? Under "Settings > Edit Character" you can choose your "active" character by selecting the gold star (if you have more than one). In this forum you can't choose an avatar, it's whatever character you've selected to be active. Pretty sure you have to unlock the class/job in order to select it.

You can delete a character ingame by right clicking on them, or pressing X (or whatever the PS4 equivalent is.....triangle, I think? IDK. The sub-menu button.) and selecting "Delete Character".
NOW if you meant job as in PLAYING the job, everyone starts out as a class. For example, your Gladiator class can turn into the Paladin job once your Gladiator hits level 30 and once you pick up the Conjurer class and level it to 15. Then you can start the Paladin job, it will share levels as your Gladiator class.
If you really want to start over and do something else, now is the time. However remember that you can play ALL jobs and classes on a single character, so unless you want to move server or completely change the way you look without using a fantasia, it's not worth it. If you're going to do either of those things I'd delete now and restart since you aren't that far yet.
