PSA: Divine Seal and Synastry affect your HoT spells

On the topic of HoTs, can we add "Do not use an AoE HoT before a pull" to the list? ;D I still see so many people doing this and just wonder what thought process they went through to come up with that decision.

well thats just your point of view... i often see healer holding up aoe hots up all the time pre-pull just to give them some time to open a battle with dps - the tanks i know are fine with regen before pulling, if we run fc intern it's just normal for us to build up prepull buffs with whm regen/sch shield/ast stances - in random grps tanks are just taken by surprise but that doesnt mean the healer is a clueless nooby. if the tank is aware of pre-pull regen and its aggro there is nothing wrong with it imo... just another topic the community is arguing about since month. "Dont do it!" - "uhm well why?" - "...uhm..."

Someone told them that HoTs are like DoTs, and that they should be kept up no matter what. I see a lot of people "refreshing" Medica II with the party topped in DF Trial Roulette.

There's no "uhm" about it. I have a very clear response and it comes in the form of aggro! There's absolutely no need to unnecessarily build up aggro as a healer, especially if you're an AST as that's one thing they all want buffed. Use your HoTs right after the tank has pulled if you must, and even then the majority of the time you only need to throw out a ST regen, not AoE.

i gonna quote myself yet again "its just your point of view" - using med2 & reg as shield prepull can be useful if the tank knows whats going on. u dont have to play like this but u either dont have to tell people how they have to play their way, or that they are making mistakes if they do it in a different way o.O - most of the time my aero3 hits even before the tank pulled the boss... yet another move u would say im doing wrong huh? progress is questioning the status quo - open your mind for different playstyles, it can be rly inspiring from time to time, just saying...

the point that it generates "too much" aggro is soooo yesterday - its probably not the fault of the DDs/Healer if tanks cant hold aggro nowadays... just my opinion.

In fact you have to be even more careful about timing HoTs as an AST whilst the tank is pulling. A.Ben (our "regen") comes with an upfront healing component. Mistime it on a pull, and the first thing you will do is land an overheal on the tank as they hit the mob with their ranged pull (shield lob/tomahawk/dark knight thing) and you will grab aggro on all the other mobs linked to it as AST.

Might be worth making a PSA for healers that Esuna/Leeches/Exalted Detriment is actually a thing. Something those netflix&play healers don't seem to realise what it does

But why would you throw leeches at someone if they're statused? Talk about adding to the problem right?

I wish more people would experiment with moves when they first get them. I spend time at the fc house experimenting with what effects what when unlocking a new ability.

People don't, and there's a number of posters around these forums that are quick to say 'the game doesn't have enough teaching tools' when I learned what I needed by reading the very clear tooltips, and using the skills as I level, yet I run into level 50+ DRGs regularly that don't know what a damn combo is. Hell, there's posters in this very healing forum that have a tendency to spread misinformation because they learned to talk on the forums before they read, like that one fool some time ago who compares lustrate to cure 2, and says lustrate is weak for example.

I haven't done the math firsthand to see if the actual % healing cut of cleric stance effects it (since every other % healing cut doesn't), but the main reason the healing gets gutted when cleric stance is on is because your MND stat becomes INT, which is my case is about -800 MND. You're pretty much healing at the power of a fresh 2.0 lvl50 character at best who is NOT in cleric stance.
