If I could like this post 100x I would. Very well written. I agree with every word.
Also, anyone who didn't even bother to read the post entirely shouldn't comment. It's ignorant and disrespectful. Plain and simple.

Me as well! And I agree as well.
I find the first reply hilarious... "I didn't read your post..." What could you possibly add to the discussion when you don't even know what the discussion is about, LOL. Talk about retarded.
XI was never hard, it was just time consuming, there were some Hard areas such as the first time you did the final ZNM or AV lol but levelling? No......Getting Sea? No.
Well written post, although I disagree with a good % of it. I did laugh @ the "Vocal Minority" considering that's all ffxiv is and will remain is a very small minority of gamers if they blow off there loyal fans (which is already a bit too late considering most loyal fans have left the building). Hardcore vs Casual has always been debated and always will be. Everyone feel they have there own definition of what the two means. Yes, I would like to see a LOT more "hardcore" challenging content (well any to be honest) and a decent mix of "casual" content to fit both styles of play, but I think within certain aspects of the game, ie "Relic Weapons" should be extremely hard to get. Most casual gamers should never see them except on another player. Granted years of playing and a good LS they just might. I myself am a casual player, and played ffxi for 7 years in my more not so casual years.
what is so retarded with it you act like 99% of the people posting read even quarter of the posts, heck half of them argue they have a life and need casual gameplay let alone read 20minutes of post thread. i read enough to know what it was about, there been a few of the same post in these forums and every mmo forum in creation.
the 2 words hardcore or casual aren't relevant to the actual arguments being made in 90% of the threads weather they use that word to describe themselves or others, or if they want ot be consider or not. that is all i was saying. people who want to chose to start talking about that part of the post rather then the points he trying to make is hilarious and retarded not i.
Some people just care only about what they want to say and not at all about what others are saying.
"Oh look, it's a topic about hardcore vs easy mode! Let me post what I think. Who cares what the OP wrote. tl;dr derp derp derp ignorance."
people do want hand outs, and everything easy as hell or people will just avoid it.
people dont want to play they just level cap thats why RMT powerleveling and gil buying is making shit loads of money maybe even more than the games host.
people cried about fatigue cuz it was too slow to level now they took it away and speed it things giving you SP/EXP at the end of a leve. grinding partys mobs die as soon as you pull out your weapon at times. auto attack people cried about when they lost there infinte MP, cried about archer being gimp from it.
at the end of the day people want to log in and get everything right now and cry about i dont have time to play, when in reality they shouldnt be playing a MMO anyways.
derp derp it's been said a million times by a million people ...i read enough of it to know what it was about, if it was well writien to you, chances are i don't agree with it at all. fact i could disagree with almost all of it. chances are my post was still 100% on topic and yours making remarks about me ...aren't. so derp derp.
and i like what indira replied with, most of you just shouldn't be playing mmo's anymore or at all. /period.

I cringed when I seen this, but I got to admit after reading it you hit the nail square on the head.
Maybe there's hope for the community after all.
