The dude said he wanted you to get a sense of accomplishment from defeating an enemy whether solo or party, but i havent seen that yet.
That will be impossible from random trash mob ( Tell me one mmo-rpg game give you that feeling from random trash mob)

about strategy: early day = you mean before zilatr? never play it, I only start playing when CoP come out.
( about sleeping >>> you can easily sleep mob with brd )

Its like no one invites mrd because he will slow the party down, is the same logic as not inviting drg, the problem was then they added bird camps and what did you want? a brd, a rdm, and then everyone else with a polearm. Even though some people think thats an abomination if anything it showed the versatility of the party situations in XI , but if everyone gravitates to that party because its faster it does leave people out. To be fair a lot of "being left out in XI" was that people wouldn't make their own parties.

Anywho what I'm saying is I'd like to see all 8 people be needed in a party, but for that we'd need a beef up on mobs, but even then people will just bring more archers. Its kind of a vicious cycle :/
So nerf archer and remove exp level cap?

I'm not sure why you have "best sp" monsters anyway. Why isn't murdering Mun-Tuy Squirrels less sp than raptors of the same rank? Why are pigs harder to kill but less sp? Is it like this because it's always like this? Or is there some sort of rationale behind it?

raptors are way harder to kill than squirrels of the same rank. Hogs arent properly balanced for their sp gains though. Thats one problem with the system, they need to figure how hard something is to kill accurately.

Just because you personally don't party before it's time for Raptors, doesn't mean they don't exist. We are told that leves are not the focus of the game, and they aren't supposed to be.

    1-20: Leves/Behest
    20-30: Ants
    30-40: Efts
    40-50: Raptors

That is what I did to level, it was pre-1.18, a patch where many new grind camps were added (like the billion or so ants near Halatali) and it is just one example of the many things you can do to level in this game. So don't tell me the only we can kill in a party is Raptors. Have some initiative.

Yeah Beastman camps are really good. I like Ixali and Almajaa the best. Kobolds are way to difficult to be worth it.

Oh and what do we fight at 39 and below? You don't, you do leves till your blue in the face.

Do you guys feel this is a system with promotes strategy and rewards you with a feeling of accomplishment? I say hell no. Every time I'm in these parties, it's a free for all with everyone just blindly attacking the enemy. Who cares if someone dies? No debuffs on the enemy? Is the conj buffing us? Don't get me started on Battle Regiment.

The reason I Enjoyed Grind Parties in XI was because you would band together to take down impossibly hard mobs That required timing and strategy to kill and the rewards reflected it, and this wasn't just for high levels. You started partying at level 10 in XI. I'm glad that there is some solo content in XIV that was lacking in XI. But there needs to be a nice middle ground that Encourages collaboration and communication, preferably starting at a relatively low level

Right now when a party takes on a high level mob the rewards are subpar. We took on a level 69 and the exp reward was 200 a mob. Then we mover to raptors and the 59s would give us 300. HOW DOES THAT MAKE SENSE?

    Opinions?
What did you do in FFXI? Bird for hours at end getting merits what you did low level? same thing over and over.

What do you do in wow? Quest and do X amount of Y or Go from A--to B or Dungeon all day long dealing with dumb people who loot gear you need and they can't even wear it. Or get a bot and go to bed while your bot enter BG and get you max level within no time.

I don't know up too you there so many things you can do in FFXIV

    X [40-44] Goblin/Diremite/Vulture @ Camp Tranquil >Silent Arbor (42,43) (Full PT).
    X [44-49] Diremites/Desert Peiste @ Camp Bluefog (23,15) (Light PT).
X [44-49] Grass Raptors @ Camp Dragonhead > Boulder Downs (Full PT).
X [45-50] Dezmael Darkhold (Good luck with that)! (Full PT).
    X [46-50] Firedrakes/Grass Raptors @ Camp Crooked Fork (51,3) (Full PT).²
X [49-50] Grass Raptors @ Camp Ever Lakes (Full PT).

yes sadly most are raptors but that due to low Repop once they release 1.19 and exp chain with low Repop i think more camps would open up.

I'm happy killing the same mob over and over then moving from point B to point A just to find more mobs like i'm doing now.

I love harassing the beastmen encampments. The major downfall being the limited number of mobs for some camps and the slow respawn timers found at all camps. Then again these are global issues. But to be honest I don't really care what's being fought just as long as the targets are plentiful and the company of the people I am grouping with is enjoyable.
