PSN Network undergoing maintenance.

So I wake up today literally PUMPED to get online and level alt number 5 in earnest (level 45 bard going on 46 bard is stupid fun btw) I turn on my console and am greeted with the ever so wonderful notification "PSN is currently undergoing maintenance."

Needless to say there was unbridled rage to follow soon after. My immediate thought is hacker filth but nothing on the web so far says that's the case. Hopefully this issue comes to a close because I am very sad and have literally no desire to do anything else. For those of you who are suffering know that you aren't alone right now.

Yeah, I've kinda been stalking the forums since almost my entire PS4 library requires an internet connection to be fun. Did a Binding of Isaac run, but yeah, I was hoping to really put in some time to FFXIV today. At least PSN didn't go down during Christmas, and I guess if you're going to drop the ball, drop it on a monday where kids are going to school and most people work.

If you have a ps4 and keep it in rest mode it keeps you signed in (for remote play, push updates, etc).

"Maintenance" is just the default error message when trying to connect to PSN.

If you check the PlayStation.com web page, you'll see that for a number of services (account management, gaming and social, PlayStation now, PlayStation video, PlayStation cue, PlayStation store, PlayStation music) are "experiencing issues" mostly pertaining to accessing content, or online features.

That's not "maintenance" ... It may not be a hack attack, but it's not maintenance either.

That's besides the point. The fact of the matter is that those of us who are only on PS3/PS4, this is our only way to play and we have to be subject to this stuff. At least on PC there is no need to worry about this crap or scheduled PSN maintenance either in order to log in.
