Small Survey: Game Avatars and Social Psychology

Pretty impressed with the self-confidence if anyone DOESN'T see their character as superior, haha. I mean, for those of us who don't roleplay, depending on what you've levelled these are characters who are basically masters of all crafts, skills and weapons, can perform physical feats impossible for humans, are perfect physically unless you went out of your way to make an ugly character, like... who actually genuinely feels "superior" in rl? LOL.

How can you compare the prowess of a virtual character of a virtual world with the real prowess of a person in the real life ?

Plus in FFXIV you only go around killing stuff, follow already well established recipes for craft (without inventing anything) and follow blindly orders from PNJ.

But yeah the survey feels lightweight for an academic paper.

The one thing I think about when it asks do you feel your character is superior its like, in more ways than one they pretty much all are. When compared to the real world they have basically flawless skin, perfect weight, only thing I have in common with my character is boob size though....and thats none....cus im a guy. XD

most interesting question is defiantly the last one is the game me more superior than the real me? not at all except for the part we don't kill monsters and use magic and stuff like that irl.

Hmmm. Although my avatar in the game is pretty much 100% my opposite in appearance (I'm short, fat, and ghostly pale), she is of course more attractive because she's a Final Fantasy character. I wouldn't say she's necessarily superior in personality, though.

umm "is u'r avi better than u?" nope, never, no f'n way in hell she does what I say, she is my puppet... my pawn for there is not she can do against her Creator, her GOD... till I gain inderdimensional travel & actually end up in the RL Eorzea where she's a real person, then we maybe on equal ground... till about 5 sec after I explain how she might exsist because of me by "inter-reality creation probability"... can't say what would happen next cause thats RNG for u but "Thats why we THINK about these things!!... cause its fun XD"
