And if there are no rewards nobody will bother because it will be completely pointless. One potential problem that jumped out as soon as I read it was the addition of a mentoring roulette. If there are decent rewards from this roulette ,such as additional tomes, we know there will be plenty of people abusing it and not using it for its intended purpose. Going in trying to rush everyone to get rewarded as quickly as possible. It happens with everything in this game.
Catch 22.
Can you think of any rewards then that only people actually interested in mentoring others might use? Transferable bonus exp while in party with a friend, etc., perhaps?

Doing a dungeon with your mentoree and rewarding him double experience giving you none. That is a reward (kind-of) because your helping your friend level faster.

Even if there are no rewards, its something i would be interested in doing. Those who need the rewards to motivate them to do this should not be doing it in the first place. Some of us dont need shinies to be nice to other players.

That's fair and rather valiant of you, but if it's not offering rewards, and you need that time to dedicate towards raiding, relic, etc., are you and everyone like you really going to keep that up if it's not serving a purpose? And you can just as easily be nice to people without being in a mentor roulette, it's not like being in any DF should preclude you from being nice.
