really that's not what i heard last night I heard on NHK that they officially asked the US for help in the matter... I could have misunderstood it with them asking for help with the nuclear situation but I do know that there was the USS Ronald Regan was there trying to help put sea water into the reactors to help cool them down. *shrugs* I was just going by what I heard from NHK

The USA has sent specialists to Japan to specifically help with the Nuclear Reactors, I believe it was 2 total. They all Left California like 4 days ago

I am quite sure I haven't heard the whole story on our news either. I think Japanese government dislikes Russia, and that is the reason why they refuse to accept our specialists. Maybe they just think that US help is enough. But I think it's just their pride and arrogance. They don't have any territory disputes with USA, so US help seems to be OK to them.
As far as I know Japan even refuses to sign permanent peace treaty with Russia. Formally, we only have a truce with them. That's ridiculous, really, especially considering that the whole half a century passed since the last war. They shouldn't consider us an enemy after that long time. But maybe all of this is just a patriotic propaganda of our armed forces. I can't know for sure. I have never lived in Japan, and therefore unable to compare their version with ours to figure out the truth. What I know for sure is to never fully trust the official version of any government, be it our own or foreign.
