Veteran Rewards kinda suck nowadays when comparing to cash shop items

I don't like any cash shop item till now. The veteran reward is much cooler than cash shop.

The veteran rewards, though, aren't in the same calibre as cash items. For one, the veteran rewards are just that, rewards. Something to celebrate a milestone. If the game didn't have them you'd still have been playing for X amount of time so a reward for something you were doing anyway isn't going to be all that extravagant. Cash items, though, are something you won't be getting anytime soon without expending some amount of cash. As such they need to make it worth dropping money on, otherwise noone will buy it. I know I haven't.

Cash shop has more items than Veteran Rewards especially when Cash shop was only recently established.

Most time in VII Cloud walk or ride a Chocobo.
Why more items are in cash shop? Because most items are from old saisonal events.
Those gears, that are not from seasonal events, are just the Scions outfits and the 2 wedding outfits (actually it's 3, but one is for free).

We even get the Behemoth Mount, wich I think it's too awesome to give it "for free"!

I think most veteran rewards are nicer than cash shop purchases, there's nothing that compares to the Behemoth or Ahriman on the cash shop. I do think it's lame they split up the Firion reward in two though, especially since they're an entire 120 days apart now.

The Firion rewards being split up bugged me too. Just got my barding and minion yesterday, and I would have much rather gotten something not tied to the last one. However, the reference in the Mogmail killed me. So that was something.

Cash shop will always have more. It was set up for different reasons and to generate additional revenue for SE and the game. I do agree however that Veteran rewards should be special and something most people would want especially for those who have subbed for quite some time. I'm not looking forward to the next one, can't remember the name of the outfit, but I suppose SE can't please everyone.

Edit: Wild Rose Attire – would definitely prefer Y'shtola's, Yda's or Minfilia's outfit in the Cash Shop to this.

Iirc Cloud rode the bike for all of one scene and a minigame. Even the broke down car and raft tiny bronco got more than that.

Anyway, I wish I could get into the rewards more, but I like looking like my own character better than cosplaying as some prior character.
