While leveling my paladin I found out that yesterday was the day of stupid mages.
First, Dzemael Darkhold. The BLM's rotation was f3, f3, f3, transpose, b3, b3, b3, transpose and the WHM healed in cleric stance during final boss fight. I thought she accidentally had the stance up and told her, she was like "and, what's your point?".
Then, Toto-Rak. The new THM's rotation was Fire, Blizzard, Fire, Blizzard, so I took a moment to suggest a better rotation - no reaction. And the CNJ let my HP drop to a dangerously low amount like four or five times because he wanted to dps - but then didn't use the cleric stance to do so.

I had some eso left to cap, so I log in, change my class to WHM (previously logged out as a crafter) and queue for the trial roulette.

It pops immediately and see that the duty has been running for 11 minutes already.
I didn't think much of it, MP was low and still charging and I expected as usual the party sitting there to start the duty, probably after a wipe.

Oh boy, was I wrong.
As soon as I load in, I need to dodge plumes.
I zoom out (for whatever reason I was fully zoomed in and I am sure I wasn't while outside the duty), regen on tank, focus target Titan.
Titan jumps immediately for heart phase, so I have a bit of time to clearly understand the situation.
I am solo healing with less that 1000 MP (immediately activate Shroud of Saints and drink an ether), there is only 1 tank and 4 DPS.

Ok. I can do it.

PLD would stoneskin himself, I was really thankful for that and he got my comm.
Luckily I am good with MP management, and when I reached a comfortable amount I DPSed a bit too.
I had to raise one of the DPS 3 times (1st time he ate plumes, 2nd bombs, 3rd time it was my fault because he raised before the stomps and I wasn't able to keep him alive with weakness and I needed to aoe heal the party).
Near the end, the 2nd tank loads in the landslide so he is off platform immediately.
2nd healer joins when Titan's at 2% healt.
I got out with 3 commendations.

All in all, it was a fun experience and easy eso, but clearly not something I want to repeat just after logging in the game lol.

Edit: as an afterthought... Luckily I log out/in in my FC yard... Had I changed class in an open world area, I would have had to deal with everything being on cooldown. o_o

Leveling my MCH and queuing up for The Aery with 'Join In-Progress Duty' checked. Duty pops and 56mins have elapsed and well, it was sort of late so I just click accept. New player message pops up but I shrug it off because yay moar EXP! The party was at the last boss and I just thought that maybe they'd finally kicked the bad DPS or something. We start Niddhog and everything is going well, until I see that the WHM isn't even trying to heal Estinien. He's really just standing there, right next to him without even trying to cast a cure. Before I can write, Estinien runs out of health and we die. So, because I main WHM, I simply type, "You can use benediction on him ^^," just in case the WHM was new and didn't know you could target NPCs with it. Halfway running back to Nidhogg and... I'm back at Mist with 'You have been dismissed from the party and duty.'

I feel it's a waste when you're in a dungeon with a dps composition is SMN/BLM or SMN/MNK or SMN/other class.. and the tank only pulls 2 mobs at a time. 3 aetherflow stacks to use on only 2 mangey mobs.. seriously. Do big pulls if you have high AOE dps.

Saint Mocianne's Arboretum on my AST with my PLD and BLM friends - we get a bard. BLM/BRD is a nice combination regarding the aoe dps, so our tank pulled big. Well... the bard only used single target skills, and when I ran out of MP, we wiped.

Do big pulls if you have aoe dps with you who actually do aoe dps.

I apologise for that post, but I think I've accumulated enough rage to finally sum it up.
I admit I've been slightly burnt out since late 3.0. And I've been leveling all jobs to 60 and I only have WAR left to never ever step in DF w/o friends. Also I admit I've been very passive-aggressive as a tank lately. As any role even tbh. Amount of times where I enter DF with a smile and leave in utter disgust is unreal. But I rant in my own rant LS to blow steam off so I dont accidently kill someone in DF with poison.
In last 2 days I did around 4high and 4leveling roulettes. Here I've met: Ice mages, Fire-till-oom mages, DoTs-for-loosers smns, Ruda-on-sic smns, I-dont-know-what-mudra-is nins, HT-and-BoD-what-sorcery-is-this drgs, under-400dps brd/mch w/o songs/turrets, I'll-use-only-single-target-attacks-I-dont-care-you've-pulled-5+mobs all jobs. Wont say anything about healers, their perfomance was on ok level, apart from some of them spamming heals on me till oom when I dont need them and completely ignore me when I actually need heals. Only monks are chill guys now, they always do their best
So what made me finally write all this today.
I did library today as 59pld. I was delaying going in library as much as possible cuz something was telling me: its gonna be bad, dont go. But eventually I told myself to go and wing it, exp > mental peace. I pop in, all my 3DF comrades are 60. Cool! Newb message.. strange. I wasnt really looking what were e1 doing until after 1st boss. 1st boss, I explained strat, ezpz boss. Both dps die at 1st set of aoe (...). We dont wipe, I just dance with healer (he has no swiftcast mind you) while the tries to rez dps I spam clem on him. Btw our composition is PLD, WHM, BLM, SMN (both dps are french and friends). I thought he was going to rez smn but he rezzed blm that immediately died cuz no heals were given after rez. Healer rezzed blm around 3 times more. I was like 'wait what'. Finally he rezzed smn for the first time. We kill boss shortly after. From this point Im staring at party list more than at things around me. The blm that healer was so insistent on rezzing was one of the fire-fire-fire ones. 'Could be worse' I thought after reminding myself that Im the only one here who's been in library more times than advised and can dodge all with closed eyes. Smn was at least putting and spreading dots but no painflare/deathflare we given and ruda was on sic (ngggggh). 2nd boss was okay. 3rd boss was a pain like he usually is. I explain all, we start. 1st set of portals went ok, 2nd set not really, got 1 add, tanked it while blowing all cd's cuz dps is low and spamming clem on e1 cuz they cant dodge big aoes, 3rd set is a disaster and we wipe. We go again, goes much smoother and we're at 5% and all of them suddenly decided to stand in vuln orbs. I make incoherent sounds irl but we kill it. Library complete! Healer (that only said 'hi' at start) said 'gg, gj team^^' or smth like that and I was about to give smn comm cuz he was the only 1 talking with me but I just exploded and left while 3 of them were watching cs. You know what? Pld aint useless, nope. Amount of clem I spammed today was overwhelming.
Looking back at this all I think I could be less fussed about all this, at least the person that was playing this game a year ago would be never this salty even after unlimited amount of wipes >_< So Im sitting here half-angry at myself for being so impatient and still having high-expectations even after constantly being mocked and half-angry at DF rng for making me suffer every. single. time. I dont remember any DF runs under 50mins, its on a myth level now.

TL;DR Just another rant full of salt of another salty person. I still insanely love this game and enjoy every minute of it outside of DF.

not to sound bad, but if you suffer is because you want to suffer, nobody forces you to do DF, nobody forces you to get angry for no reasons. So not sure why you really feel that way....there are no reasons for nothing to your job the best you can, you are not responsable for how others perform, as long as you did all you could..who cares the rest. You cant clear ? big deal...start over and do it until you can....otherwise build your own PF with all and only pro and everything will go fine.

Now I will tell you this..if you get so much angry is because as you said you know the fight in and outs by heart....but remember that there was a time that you didnt and probably were the pain in the neck of other players, those trials and failures made you what you are today...might want to remind yourself of that when you see less skilled, capable people than you.

I was top dps for every fight in a Void Ark run except the third boss (all three tanks died and I decided to tank the boss after being rezed).

57 minutes run. The health bars seemed like they had been multiplied by at least 5 times the normal amount, judging by the time it took to kill de monster.

Tank was a Warrior with an iLV160 Baldur Axe, DPS were a Bard and a Ninja, both with iLV200 weapon.
I can't say anything about their rotations because I was trying to keep the tank alive because his HP dropped like crazy, but they seemed very quiet for a DPS class. The only thing I can assure you: no Empyreal Arrow was used that day.
We struggled until the last boss without wipes, but fighting Progenitrix was hard. On the first try, we couldn't meet the DPS check, so 2 grey bombs exploded and caused a wipe. Second try, I decided to DPS. Regen + Asylum (no Divine Seal, to not get aggro) tank, Cleric, put up my DoTs, PoM, Stone 3, Stone 3 and... Aggro. I ripped aggro from a Warrior, a Bard and a Ninja with TWO STONE 3 CASTS. Got cleaved, Benediction, tank couldnt take aggro back, cleaved again, wipe.

Somehow we did it on the third try, where I had to use only my Aeros in fear of ripping aggro again.

Sometimes the greatest moments are when things go horribly wrong.

So I was in Aurum Vale leveling bard on my alt. Got a really good party and everything was going great...until our tank disconnects during one of the last trash pulls before the final boss. Suddenly all 6 scorpions turn toward me and I start frantically running in a circle around the outside of the room. Our ninja pulls some off me but soon dies, whereupon the mobs decides to kill the healer next. So then it's just me with 6 mobs trailing behind me (cue Benny Hill music).

My only thought is, "I'm not going down without a fight!" so I'm determine to kill the scorpions by myself, spamming nothing but straight shot and heavy shot (using any other skills would have slowed me down too much). This goes on for a few minutes and I've killed some of them. Even so, I'm just about dead, but then the healer arrives along with the ninja. Once it's down to two mobs, the ninja takes one and I take the other until we are victorious.

After that we get a new tank, who remained blissfully unaware of what just went down. And I got the healer and ninja's commendations, so apparently they found my performance impressive. Great way to end the night.
