Just unlocked the Sundrop dance and I am incredibly disappointed. I thought that because I was a female Roe I would escape the "wimminfolk curse" like I did with mounts, but nope. Female Roe get the godawful version of the Sundrop dance, as well.

My sadness and disappointment is as vast as the floating islands and as strong as a summer typhoon.

Aww. Would you be able to upload a short clip showing the female Roe version, if you get a chance? I'd love to see it and female Roes are impossible to find on my unenlightened server

Wow... some obscure dance called the "haka" which no one knew about before is suddenly Googled and now professionally critiqued by 19 pages of player comments.

It's not all that obscure tbh. It's an iconic dance used by New Zealand sport teams to intimidate the opposing teams. Some know it from the tribe it originated from but I'm sure many know it from the All Blacks and All Ferns rugby teams. Granted the sport isn't very popular in USA, it doesn't mean it's obscure for many of the players outside of the USA.

I've actually come to like it. I've seen the male dance for myself and while it does have more energy something about it just seems off. On my female character I just pretend it's the Alexander dance

I think it looks a fair bit more powerful on your Roe than on a Miqo'te, even with the lack of movement compared to the guy version.

I think it looks a fair bit more powerful on your Roe than on a Miqo'te, even with the lack of movement compared to the guy version.

It still looks like she's trying to dry her new painted nails, while crying like a lil' kid for a lollypop (the dance, not the roe). Srsly, I don't know what SE was thinking, but it was freakin stupid! I love the dance on males, but for females it's just disappointment.

I like both versions. :P Girls looks cute and guys look dumb. Both make me laugh. The guys look like they're trying to poop. Well... the male miqo'te's do. Their tails hook upwards. Love it.

It looks a little stiff and awkward to be cute in my book. I find the animation just makes my character look very self conscious and awkward. Frankly it makes it hard for me to take the quests that involve it seriously.

However being cute is part of the problem. The Sundrop dance is supposed to be a dance that portrays your physical and mental prowess as a warrior. The Haka is effectively a war dance. Neither are supposed to be cute. Cute in that scenario just comes off looking either silly or pathetic.

Not everything for female characters has to be 'cute'.
