There seem to be a misconception that Women don't do the Haka as fierce as males. This isn't true.
    https://youtu.be/v_lESZNbizk?t=2m11s

Females have a different style of Haka, but it is just as fierce as the males. If they didn't want to do the female Haka, that's fine. Just don't make the Females do the Sundrop like they are bored and want to go paint their nails.
Female Haka are smooth in motion, but no less fierce. Male Haka has more quick, sudden movements.

I'd been hoping to get the Vanu dance as an emote ever since I first saw it while going through the main story of Heavensward.
It's really disappointing to learn that I can only get a more subdued version for my main character.

Personally I wish they'd just get rid of gender locks on all the armour and emotes. Being a specific gender doesn't physically prevent you from putting on any piece of clothing or posing any way that you want after all.

Yeah, the bored, boring mood of the emote bothered me most of all. I grew up in Hawaii, so I've had some exposure to different styles of Polynesian dance-- I've never, ever seen something so lifeless as the female version of the Vanu dance.

I agree with people that says the emote looks somewhat robotic, it could use a little bit more upper body movement, but that's it.

As far as those saying that the female dance should also have their legs spread wide open...not gonna happen. I'm gonna reference FFXI Mithra original pose as an example (you can do search on google for this to see samples). Originally the sit pose had Mithra legs spread wide open from the front and the parents got on their case for it, which result in Mithra having new sit pose with leg close together so it isn't open wide from the front. If the Vanu dance for female toons were to have their legs wide open, history will repeat and same results will follow.

SE is just taking the initiative.

Nice to see that after 3-4 years people will still complain about anything and everything in the official forums.

I guess all the people who didn't complain got banned.

Just unlocked the Sundrop dance and I am incredibly disappointed. I thought that because I was a female Roe I would escape the "wimminfolk curse" like I did with mounts, but nope. Female Roe get the godawful version of the Sundrop dance, as well.

My sadness and disappointment is as vast as the floating islands and as strong as a summer typhoon.

I don't think your argument is valid in this point. If it was, we probably wouldn't have half-naked female miqo'te NPCs (and, well, players too I guess...) doing sexy dances in nearly every area of the game. Definitely wouldn't have that too-hot-for-Saturday-morning hotsprings area in La Noscea, for sure.

I think parents are capable of drawing distinctions at tribal dances.

It's all about the power! These guys in the vid are like "Lets just get this over with..."

There's a reason why that vid doesn't show the Likes/dislikes bar, and has the comments disabled >.>

Wow... some obscure dance called the "haka" which no one knew about before is suddenly Googled and now professionally critiqued by 19 pages of player comments.

It's interesting what the players in this game get riled up over! Personally, I think emotes are a worthless waste of time... but then again- in a game so is everything else, I suppose.
