I think it's always been this way but you've only just become aware of it.
mmm I get /bow and /wave from people i don't know one guy traded me a subligar....
I wave back at them if they wave at me and give etra subligar sexy pose...
I cant target, emote, or even talk half the time when Im crafting.
So everyone thinks I'm ignoring them.
The time limit on each action, the inability to target anything, and the interruption of your chat log after each action makes doing ANYTHING and crafting a royal pain in my ass.
Use /em to get around not being able to do that stuff. I think it'll work. I end up typing something like '/s What up man' a lot while crafting.I cant target, emote, or even talk half the time when Im crafting.

True story I held up a LS Toto-Rak briefly party the other day to stop and save a player from death while he was doing leves. I throw buffs on players all the time so long as I have them on my bar. If I see someone dead, I usually throw a Raise of some sort too. This made me laugh a bit and here's why. When I left then came back and after reading posts similar to the OPs I decided that I would just for the hell of it, /wave to everyone I ran past to just see what happend. No one responded lol. So I know what you mean. It is sad but, I met a great LS through Lodestone so I'm happy now. Still, when I'm running around doing Leves or w/e, I always check other PCs and if they're low R enough, I'l stop what I'm doing and just random PL them or at least give out full buffs. In XI I use to do it but I called it drive by healing
Same. I also end up doing nothing when I think I have responded to someone lol. I feel bad but will usually stop, retrace their name and send a /t and say hi or explain why I didn't or messed up replying.
YEAH! This^. I love doing that stuff. That's why I play Con. If we could help players like we could in XI when on a melee job I would too. I've switched gear in the middle of doing craft/gathering leves to help someone new or just Ring up a new job/class. I don't expect anything in return and have I think at times been ignored; idc. To me, that's my job as Con or just another player in game.
I PM'd a lala and asked them very kindly to do /panic. They were running past me.. stopped.. turned around.. /panic
I /bow, they /bow and we went our separate ways.![]()
When I do play I try to be friendly to other players, but as another user mentioned, there are barriers to being friendly, like when crafting, it makes it nearly impossible to chat with someone. I sometimes find myself slipping into the mindset that communication in the game is more trouble than its worth.
We have a vent server, but its a challenge to get players from this game on ventrilo, at least it has been for my friends. I don't know if its mentality, or if there is nothing in the game that actually requires strategy/planning, or a combination of both.
