Evolution of your character

I don't have the very first one laying around anywhere, so I'll have to skip that one. :x

2.x, first one I still have a (small) image of, it was before I was really serious about playing FFXIV, or rather back when I didn't play much.



After a lot of asking myself if I should change, I did. (2 fantasias later, one of them was changing eye colour, and the other skin .-.)



I then decided to switch to a Lalafell before I had come to think all Lalas were evil (2.55), picture of my EB and I when I got him to start the game (after much waiting! D




I then ended up switching back to Miqo'te after a bit...



Then with the release of the Au Ra I decided to Fantasia to Au Ra (ignore my amazing Photoshop skills).



And now, I'm back to Miqo'te, which is now my permanent look (excluding temporary changes to a new race for a weeks).

Wow the changes some people go through are crazy... I couldn't do that.
Not saying it's bad of course, just that when I've set down a character it's very hard for me to change them.

In fact the only fantasia I've ever used was to refine some facial options and define my character's eyes more... and I've had a total of four different hairstyles over a year (I just recently changed it and I may even change it back later, not sure yet).

I've always tried to change my hair. I really want to be able to enjoy that aspect of the game but I just can't bring myself to it! I've never kept a hairstyle for more than 10 minutes. I always instantly change back to my default. And never once used a fantasia. I have 3 I'm sitting on since the game was introduced that I got from the developers.

After getting i120 Ironworks gear I didn't pay much attention to the loot gear (no one wanted so I got) until I was invited to a wedding ceremony and I had to pick out something good to wear and saw I had this and holy crap this jacket is NICE. Conveniently had other color-coordinated gear to pair it with. Also changed hair and face tats.

That's why I thought it'd make an interesting thread, some people do such huge changes. I don't feel like mine has changed much, I considered my 2.0 Kaelah my first one if you know what I mean so I guess the biggest change for me was the Au Ra and I did find it reaaaaally hard to use that fantasia after being a Miqo'te all that time. It was surreal suddenly seeing someone else in cutscenes.

Added my XI character to my OP. Took some digging to find a screenshot where you can see her face at all (and even that one I was doing /pray haha so hand in face), they are such tiny screenshots!

Beta phase 2: Moonkeeper miqo'te. I guessed miqo'te would be the most popular, so I wanted to stand out and make her blue with crazy white face paint. x'D


Beta phase 3 - release: Made a male sunseeker miqo'te, but once I saw Merlwyb in the storyline, I instantly knew that female roegadyn was my path.


2.1: Kept her the same, but her hairstyle and colour changed every other week or something.


2.2-3?: I noted that many of my friends had the same swirly eyes face paint, so I got annoyed and changed it to 'female roe only' -tattoo (right cheek).


2.45: Decided to get rid of the white highlights.


Pre-3.0 (around March): Changed from pink to pale purple. Have been like that ever since.

I lost all my old screenshots of my character after a computer switch, but essentially he started out as a feminine miqo'te male CNJ and is now a female au'ra DRK :B

I'm MOSTLY like this. Not counting her name (originally didn't fit seeker conventions at all), Rhuna hasn't changed all that much since I first started playing aside from adding scars and longer hair over time. Though I doubt I'll change her current hairstyle for a VERY long time (the long, fluffy one with the bangs) since it looks almost perfectly like my favorite drawing done of her.
