Minfilia Hairstyle: Male Variant please

For once I'd like some things to be a little exclusive... :/

All things considered, this is nothing short of freakin' hilarious coming from someone that plays a female character.

I'm sort of shocked about the comment implying ponytails should be female-locked. The last patch brought a bunch of new ones in for everyone. I've seen plenty of comments on both sides from people who want more short options for girls or more choice for longer hair with guys; wanting access to the new Minfilia style seems like a perfectly valid thing to suggest under the circumstances!

And that ponytail looks great on guys - like Stephanivien (MCH guildmaster). Maybe they should have locked it male-only if you're worried that male and female characters having access to the same hair somehow makes your character seem less feminine?

Why make a MALE look like a female when you can just...make a female?
I understand how it works IRL but wanting it in game is just ridiculous, this thread sounds like the devs are being unreasonable or something because a guy cant use a females hair type

I think the OP answered your question already (and his post was both polite and complimentary towards the game's team). He wants the hair or something like the hair to complement his look on his male character, and was just expressing himself. I don't see any remarks in there where he admits to actually wanting to play as a female character but being unable to figure out how to change. There are dozens (if not hundreds) of similar posts on the forums from girls wanting more short haircuts, guys wanting more long styles without accessories, and Au Ra wanting more hair that works around their horns. They're all perfectly reasonable.

Wanting something that is locked away from you isn't the same thing as wanting to redo your character just to use it.

I'd rather see the hairstyle remain exclusive for female characters and get Aymeric's hairstyle as an exclusive option for male characters.

I don't see why not. It's not particularly "feminine", and males have a style similar (the 3.0 ponytail) so I don't get why the Minfilia hairstyle is gender-exclusive. It's just hair.

Personally, I think every item should be wearable for everyone. >w>
That way, when I use my monthly Fantasia, I won't have to worry about having to re/un-glamouring my equipment when I change gender. :-D
