A great question. My data collection period was rather short so I needed a program that could randomly select winners while not collecting identifying information that would require me to go through a non-exempt IRB process. The program "rolls" (I'm sure there's a different terminology, but it escapes me at the moment)at the completion of the survey and only asks for identifying info if you're selected as a winner - that info is stored separately from the survey data and not accessible until the data collection window opens.
