If I recall it's about 2k yen a month, which is equivalent of $30 USD. Still, way too expensive regardless. 30 yen would actually keep people playing through those problems haha.TERA is currently suffering the same fate in Japan due to the high price of the monthly fee of 30yen *or something along that line* (which is higher than what is usually paid in Japan) That also suffers from lack of content and endgame content after level 58 and RMT running rampart.
lol Thank you for the correction. (It was rumored a few months ago that TERA was to be $30 dollars a month) xD good thing it wasn't true.
If Tera pulls that shit here in the US with the addition of their unreasonable Elin censorship I'm hoping beyond hope the game dies very soon after launch.
i agree they need to either add the option to switch servers or merge the small servers together somehow Karnak for example has a tiny population albeit there are wore off servers but Karnak is definatly among the low population servers i want lots more people to play with
They cannot worry about server population until after the PS3 release. It's a waste of time and resources to shut down servers only to have to reload and redeploy them later.
The solution to low server population is not to merge and shut down servers. The solution is to make the game great so more people play it.
A server merge would mean SE is officially admitting the game is failing. If they shut down one server they may as well shut them all down.
And despite what the OP says, Wutai is NOT "quieting down". It's one of the more populated servers, and from what I've seen it's growing.
I'm all for character transfers (especially in Foulu's case), but again, that can't happen until the PS3 version is released and established.
Also, where are you getting dev1024 for this thread? dev1024 is about crowd control actions in party play (i.e. AoE abilities). It's got nothing to do with server population.

Fixed. You're wrong and please don't lie to the community here. As of now 9/19/11 wutai is but a small tiny server. It only looks big because of people going to Uldah as a main nation being a "Jeuno" gathering to dig through wards easier. They cannot worry about server population until after the PS3 release. Another thing I like to share is Eekiki is one of the shell holders who go afk until they get a tell to buy unique/rare drop gear for Darkhold runs. One of the examples of people who are preoccupied aren't. I don't want to drift off the subject of the need of server merging or transferring but Eekiki's comments are unsupported evidence of any kind as usual. I don't have infinite gil as these people do but at least I work for it.
Just like Azury's post earlier, they care about making gil, controlling the crowd, & becoming a major resource selling unique/rare equipment. Hence this post: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...l-for-3-months
Any person can make a character on wutai just to make a survey to see how low population is it. It's populated primarily with other langauge speakers like EU & JP & I don't play on EU time to have the advantage to do events at 3-5am EST, so no. They just want to control the community and it's needs (i.e. respect us or no drops for you). So if this is the case how Wutai will end up, I don't want to be here. There are other servers I can go to that I know and are more friendly environment than Wutai that's for sure. And don't go saying "It's a waste of time and resources" because you don't work for Square Enix or how would they function.

Where are you playing at? I shout almost every day talking to people in shouts in Ul'dah.
I made my claim, you made yours. What do you have to back up your claim? I see Ul'dah busy as ever, and I see more people in the other cities too, whereas pre-1.18 Gridania was a ghost town.
Everything in this paragraph is either untrue or nonsense, or both, with the possible exception of the last sentence since I don't know how much gil you have (I have 1.6 million, for the record), and I don't know what you spend your time doing in game except for the times when I end up near you by coincidence and you feel the need to try and start a fight with me for no reason. Sad, but not surprising that you once again turn to personal attacks.Another thing I like to share is Eekiki is one of the shell holders who go afk until they get a tell to buy unique/rare drop gear for Darkhold runs. You can't sell gear that drops in the dungeons.Just like Azury's post earlier, they care about making gil, controlling the crowd, & becoming a major resource selling unique/rare equipment. Hence this post: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...l-for-3-months
More speculation without evidence. I'm pretty low on the totem pole in both my LS's, and it took me until last night to get my Alpine Jacket from darkhold, but I finally got it.Any person can make a character on wutai just to make a survey to see how low population is it. Glad I'm on Cornelia. I always get a kick out of seeing "Welcome to Cornelia!"
