I wish I could've gotten into FFXI back when I first had the physical case in my hands, over 10 years ago. Actually, I did try to install it, but something happened. My computer caught a virus. I was robbed of that chance. As much as I hate to admit it, I was disappointed to find out that this crossover event, that had so much hype, was for a FFXI character. I wish I could experience the event the way it's supposed to be experienced, but I'll just be someone who's there for the armor, painfully ignorant to the true meaning behind the event. It's for that reason I'm reserving myself from taking part.

I kind of felt that way back during the Shantotto attack. Shantotto made me want to start playing Final Fantasy 11, but I doubt I'd get far in that game before turning back to this one.

First of all, Serket never drops a Scorpion Harness. It drops the Venomous Claw that is used to craft the harness. Better wording would be "Please drop a Serket Ring....please m(._ .m)!

As for me, I stopped playing full time last year to put more time into XIV. Plus the people I used to run with had also left XI. I've kept going back for the free login events though.
Even still, I'll admit it, there were some tears to be had at the end of this event (and much more to come during this week free login event, I'm sure ;

It was a really nice event yup, I still play ffxi (just a little now though) so the memories have never left which I am grateful for.

It was full of good times with a select few exceptional individuals along the way! One of the best games I agree.

Btw for anyone who is wanting to go back to XI they are starting a free log in campaign this Friday until around the end of November. So wait a couple days and don't pay the sub right now.

It's too bad they didn't have something for the quest that scanned whether your SE account had an FFXI account tied to it, so that when Iroha says something about Selbina or Mhaura or other locations, your character could pipe up with, "I'm familiar with those lands, but I'm sorry that this isn't Vana'diel"... or something to that effect.

It was particularly rough for me as my FFXIV character is the spiritual successor to my old FFXI character (same name, started with the same elvaan features), even has Ronfaure for a surname for crying out loud, but wasn't able to establish his connection to Vana'diel, in this crossover and the Shantotto one.

Ahh, yeah you're right. I got a Scorpion Harness eons ago (had to be like 2007 or so when I still played) so my memory was a bit rusty. I certainly remember camping for that damn ring though :X
