Nothing unreasonable about wanting to keep progressing with other people who are as far along as your group.
But being day 1 it is rather impractical.

I was joking around with some people about how we were going to start seeing PF parties banning newcomers inside of 48 hours. We are...18 hours into the patch. I had no idea I was being optimistic by 30 hours.
At any rate, it's your PF party, and you're free to do whatever you can stomach with it.
I agree, its pretty silly to already be saying "Know the fight up to X point" when a fair amount still have yet to even touch the new content yet. Especially as its a weekday, but still, just as bad as people trying to vote abandon the Ark cus of a wipe or two.
Not trolling. In JP, it really is standard for everyone to do their best, for everyone to care about contributing to the group as much as possible. On NA, not so much.
The fact that the OP even had to ask this question proves my point. Newer, more inexperienced players are wanting people who have progressed further to set themselves back constantly just for them. They're trying to justify holding others back when they have the tools available to create a group with people like themselves, much like how many NA players try to justify the plethora of reasons they do not contribute to the group adequately. In JP, players completely new to a fight will want to contribute rather than hold back a group, so would not be behaving the way NA players are. They would start groups with others on a similar level of experience in a fight. The NA players in question seem to believe that being completely new is an excuse to hold back a group that isn't completely new and that these groups should drop all the progress they've made for the completely new people. This "cultural mindset" is VERY different from the JP mindset.
This is something existent in the western gaming culture that is simply not existent in the JP culture. In JP culture, everyone is expected to give their best, and usually they do. The JP players berating the NA endgamers simply do not understand that the average player in the west is not like the average player in JP, they have very different mindsets.
But, believe whatever makes you happy :3

It is fine in my opinion OP.
If you spent 15 hours on the fight but took first timers every time someone left your party, you would never get much further than the last time. By taking only same experienced people you have much higher chance of actually continuing where you stopped. Even the best player in the world just cannot overcome true experience if he hasn't seen the fight yet.
You aren't obligated to sacrifice your own spare time for the benefit of others and you are entitled to state whatever requirements you want in the PF as long as they aren't against the law or ToS.
Sure, I believe you have some moral obligation to help your FC mates, friends or static members but definitely not strangers (my opinion). If you waited untill whole server experienced some fight, you would never clear it.
I feel somehow unbiased in this matter as I no longer use PF for such stuff (cba doing stuff like Thordan via PF when I have static full of nice people). So nope, I am no Party Finder elitist, if people want to accuse me of that.
While its your PF you are free to do as you like but you are limiting the amount of people that know the fight. And are lending a hand to the already toxic community of newer players that are having trouble because people dont feel like helping out. Ilvl210 no bonus. gg.
The OP did nothing wrong

Nothing wrong with what the OP did. I just don't think that with less than 24 hours into 3.1, they're going to find many people who fit the qualifications.

Still getting this issue. Lots of people are just ignoring PF text and when asked about it they have the excuse that they are 'fast learners' or some other such excuse. It seems like the 'unfair' aspect only comes up when I tell them that we aren't going to take them with us... :/
They may be fast learners, they may only wipe once then see "Oh thats how its done" and be on your level next step. It's worth at least giving them a shot to prove if they are fast learners. Regardless, its still new, either suck it up and stop complaining or let em in.
