Yes, and making 145 posts, about 70% of which all mention FFXI and and how its players are breaking the game, is the solution. My god, freakin brilliant!
Take your own advice, as you've expressed it so many other times in so many other posts, and forget about FFXI. You seem more attached to it than anyone else here.

When you start any thread, WHICH IS THEORETICAL and others that are completely subjective, you should expect these things. Think before you post. Honestly, it looks like they already know what they want to do with end game and I personally would like to wait to see how they handle it before allowing the community tell them what is best. Please do not debate or start flame wars. Only Answer the question. It is intended to provide devs with people's viewpoints on the question WHICH IS THEORETICAL. I'm not sure why people feel the need to turn every thread into a flame war or polarized debate full of personal attacks.
You never know. They may make something that most people like and have never thought of. It is possible.
I feel like adding new upgrades of content every 3 months is a great idea, this means we will get faster expansions, faster new areas, faster feedback, a better game in all. Plus, we will get much more players. At least as a crafter, we need new content often to not get bored, making the same thing thousands of times is kinda boring, lety us make different stuff i dsay! ^^
Do I want new content every 3 months?
Um... YES!
Sheesh, people will complain about anything/everything on these forums.
IIRC, didn't FFXI have new content every 3 months via update?
What on earth is the issue here?
And people still misinterpret the question. Has nothing to do with getting content every 3 months. It's about the gear from that content rendering the gear that came before it obsolete.
They can release content every 3 months, and make the gear that comes from it comparable to the gear we already have, situational if you will. Leave the phasing out of gear for level cap raises.
Which is what Yoshi was saying, and Azury used that as inspiration for a fearmongering "question".
Why else would Azury raise a question like this, since nobody on the development team has even suggested it?
Actually, YP never commented on gear stats at all, just that the gear will become easier to obtain 3 months after its release.
Also, I think Azury's question came from not only Yoshi's post, but also another topic similar to this which got closed yesterday.
I can see how YP's post could bring up the idea of gear being phased out each patch, even if it wasn't what he was saying. It's still a legitimate question, regardless of why it was asked.
People aren't misinterpreting the question. The question was posed as if it were fact. Clearly the OP read Yoshi's post about gear, and created this topic. It's misinformation. And people still misinterpret the question. Has nothing to do with getting content every 3 months. The people, like me, who are "misinterpreting" are expressing the fact that nowhere in Yoshi's post did he say gear will become useless or replaced with each update.
How else would the OP come up with the 3 month time frame and the idea of items become useless, unless he/she didn't understand what Yoshi said?Originally Posted by Naoki_Yoshida
However, in 3 months time, a solid strategy will be formulated and the difficulty level of the battle content will be adjusted too, allowing players “who cannot put their entire life into gaming” to eventually obtain the shining rod. On the other hand, the next battle content will arrive by that time and hardcore players will be able to continue challenging themselves.
You think just because the point hasn't been told to us directly that the thought isn't going through the dev teams mind right now?
It's not hard to imagine that they want to emulate WoW as much as they can givin comment from Yoshi like.
(We want it to be familliar like other large MMO's) (We want to stea....players from other MMOs...oops)
So emulating their update style and type of gameplay offerings obviously isn't off the table for the development team, I do hope they avoid this trap that many other MMO's have fallen into by trying to emulate WoW too much. People who want WoW...suprisingly enough play WoW.
For the few desenters saing "Go back to FFXI if you want gear that lasts!" it's hard to do that because the game as it stands doesn't really allow that type of play anymore either. Abysea changed the game in many ways.
