Too many skills for cross hotbar.

So I decided to get back into WHM and get it up to level 60, but I seem to be having a problem with placing all my skills on 2 cross hotbars (using expanded hold controls). Right now I don't even have Fluid Aura on my bars. It took me forever to figure out how to make everything fit on my PLD, but I was able to macro enough things to make it work pretty well. Are there any tricks to be used on WHM or am I just going to have to use a second bar or expand into sheathed/non-sheathed cross bars?

I will get hell from the GCD purists for this suggesting. Macro your stones together.

    /ac "Stone III"
    /ac "Stone II"
    /ac "Stone"

One button, single target attack available for all level syncs.

I do the exact same thing except without Stone as no real need for it, but Stone II and Stone III on one is so helpful, can do low level stuff and not change the bars around. Yeah you can't queue them, but we're a WHM, doing DPS is really a bonus vs an actual DPS class. Even so though I've still never had any trouble doing solo content with it set this way. To the OP let me post my set up later for you when I'm online as a photo. I'm level 60 WHM and 60 AST and I actually have empty spaces on my hotbar and I just use 1 plus the expanded ones and find it works really well. Biggest tip I have is using the expanded hotbars, one I use strictly for Protect, Raise, Stoneskin, Stoneskin II, etc with another more for DoTs like Aero, Aero II, Aero III, Virus, Repose, Fluid Aura. Then on the main hotbar the right side is more healing, Cure, Cure II, Regen, Tetra, Assisze, Medica, Medica II, Esuna, and then the left side is Cleric Stance, PoM, Divine Seal, Shroud of Saints, Holy, Stone II/III Macro, Benediction and Asylum. Another thing I've seen people do that I haven't yet, is add a normal hotbar, non PS4 version and put things that have cooldowns like swiftcast and what not on it, and then put them on the expanded hotbar. That way you can see at all times when they are off cool down. I haven't done that though as I find it takes half a second to quickly pop open the expanded one to see if something is off cooldown or not. I'll take pictures later for you though! I find mine works really well, I don't know how people play on PC to be honest, the PS4 controls are just so good in my opinion!

I'm not sure how well that will work with my current setup. Right now all of my "attack spells" are macro'd so I don't have to ever leave my current healing target. I will attack what they are attacking with a push of a button. However, they would free up A LOT of space and would be pretty useful.

I have my controls set up so that when I only shift between crossbars 1 and 2 during combat. On top of that ive got the extended hotbars available.

For leveling purposes make 3 hotbars, each with either Stone, Stone II, Stone III. You can delete the non Stone III one after you hit 60 pretty much. I wouldn't suggest that macro, because if you press it just slightly early it might fire off a stone instead of a Stone III.

An easy macro for space is:

    /ac "Fluid Aura
    /ac "Fluid Aura
    /ac "Fluid Aura
    /ac "Fluid Aura
    /ac Repose
    /macroicon "Fluid Aura

    Another one I use is

    /ac "Eye for an Eye
    /ac Virus
    /ac Virus <tt>
    /ac Virus <focus>
    /ac "Eye for an Eye
    /ac Virus
    /recast Virus
    /macroicon "Eye for an eye"

The purpose of repeating a line a few times or later in the macro is to be certain that you didn't press the macro too early, which would cause the game to skip the line. Hope this gives you an idea or something D:

    Edit:
You can also make mounting/sprinting easier by taking advantage of your L3/R3 buttons.

I changed my L3 to assist. (I main healer)
R3 you can change to macro #99.

A simple Sprint macro is just
    /ac Sprint

A more complex Sprint macro is

    /ac sprint <t>
    /mount "Main Mounts name"
    /mount "Backup Mounts name"
    /ac Sprint

[if the company Chocobo is not your main mount place it in the backup slot. If it is your main mount put your runner up, for when your choco is stabled]

    What this does is:
[*]It lets you Sprint towards something without attempting to mount if you target anything, even yourself.
[*]It will have you mount if Sprint is on CD or if you're not targeting anything.
[*]It will summon your chocobo companion as a mount instead of your default, so you don't get an error while he is summoned for combat.
[*]It will also summon your backup mount when your chocobo is stabled, if he is your default mount.
[*]Finally, Sprint is repeated at the end so that if you are In a place where your mount is forbidden and you aren't targeting anything, it will have you Sprint.

Figuring this out has made my hotbar much more enjoyable.

So you're basically saying you use the sheathed and non-sheathed cross bars, right? This way you can keep Chocobo/Return/Whatever off the bars while you fight, right?

Mhmm. Maybe put up your hotbars so we can see anything that could be consolidated though?

For the stone macro, there was some time ago which, instead, made a macro which casts Protect and also sets the level appropriate stone skill to your stone slot. This let's you use the pure skill for any sort of spell queuing purposes while giving some measure of not needing to have all stones in the hotbar. And having protect as macro, well, you don't cast it all the time anywa so it having this side effect doesn't much hinder anything.

If you say 'pls' because it's shorter than 'please', I say 'no' because it's shorter than 'yes'.

EDIT: After posting this image, I realized I could get rid of Blizzard 2. I don't know why I haven't gotten rid of it.
