I totally agree with Vawn. Maybe you could, I dunno, calm down a bit on the outrage at the idea that some other player, at some point, is going to have something that you worked hard for, with somewhat less effort.

And it's not even unrealistic! Here's a scenario straight out of RL for ya: I once paid $100 for 4 Megabytes of ram. On several different chips! Now, kids get thousands of times as much for practically nothing!

I'm sorry buddy but what he described was exactly the situation in FFXI and nowhere in there does it say that old gear will be 100% useless. First of all no content which has been released so far, and likely no content in the future will offer drops for every slot in every gear, but yes it will probably have a few items which are better for someone just like in FFXI.

He doesn't say anything about making content easier, he says that once a strategy is formulated by hardcores that casuals can then use that to make the content more accessible just like in FFXI.

I did it was pretty crap, basically you misunderstood everything Yoshi said and then went on a huge rant about how everything was going to be suddenly easy and accessible. Maybe you were in a junk linkshell in FFXI or something, but this is how things worked there too bud.
