So, the Final Fantasy XI dev team?

With the grand finale due out soon, I have to wonder, what will happen to the FFXI dev team? It'd be a waste for them to not to use some of the veteran MMO devs they have on FFXIV, right? I wonder if Square is planning to bolster up XIV's dev team with XI's team?

Indeed, I didnt mind 2.5 being split up, as it made the wait for Heavensward feel a bit shorter. Post-Heavensward has been a real drag though, since there hasnt really been enough endgame to fill these past five months, I'm hoping it doesn't happen for 4.0. It'd be great to get some of the XI devs on board as they probably have some interesting new ideas to bring to the table.

Technically the split the original XI team to begin development on this game so unless some of them don't want to for whatever reason I could see them being transferred to this game.

2.5 was split into parts on purpose. 3.1 is late because some of the dev team took time off for vacations after 3.0 launched.

All deadlines in 2015 have been met. They just aren't different than the deadlines you personally wanted.

I'd imagine that a lot of XI staff members have actually been dabbling in other teams at SE for some time now. I know Matsui himself worked on ARR previously. The core staff members will probably move on to other projects (most likely XIV or Dragon Quest X, but perhaps other projects, too) but will still be overseeing a lot of XI stuff at the same time including QoL updates and the upcoming mobile version

Late is late, regardless of the excuse. If we have to wait 5 months for 3.2, I don't care what excuse they come up with, because I won't be playing anymore. Frankly, I doubt I'll be the only one.

If the dev team cannot work around a vacation schedule without delaying content over a month, then they either need more staff or better management (or both). If I ever walked into a meeting with a customer and told them I can't deliver on time because we all took a vacation, I'd be fired on the spot.

This and ty i guess some ppl don't understand what a vacation is. Id rather have Yoshi and team in good heath then them stressed out and sick

but they never gave you a time for 3.1 to begin with. right after the expansion came out, they said that we will have to wait a bit longer than usual till the next big patch
