If they ever added a new race I would really like ronso. That would be a good beast type race.

Plenty of games east or west have both cute races, it's not really specific to games made in Asia.
I highly doubt that you or many people in the userbase would have support for a race I would want. The issue is asking for things of a similar topic like "I want this race" inherently puts people on the defensive, I mean, considering the size of the dev team I'm surprised we'd get a single race. That defensiveness puts people on a really negative spin to any topic, and from what I've experienced fans of ff12 and the Viera tend to get very defensive over having them in the game before anything else (Not necessarily in this thread, but in general.)
I don't think anyone's said Viera are just Miqo'te with bunny ears, heck if anything they're Elezen with bunny ears lol. The big issue is that if you look at a girl Midlander, a girl Au Ra, and a girl Miqo'te, all of them are incredibly similar (Especially girl Au Ra and Miqo'te), you can do this with tools in the game. Making a Hyur look like an Elezen isn't too possible though, it requires a lot of changes to the height, ears, and overall body shape of the Elezen and none of those are easy to conceal. I mean if you look at http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/...20150426112427 they look very similar to the Elezen, even the necks look pretty long.
There's tons of actual beastmen within the story so it could easily make sense. And go figure a bunch of them have classes of their own really similar to the ones we have access to as well. To be honest, that's whole "beast tribes aren't meant to live with the other races" is something I feel the game is trying to deny, see the inclusion of the beast tribe quests, the parallels the beast tribes have with Eorzeans to the Eorzeans with the Garleans, and Limsa's inclusion of beastmen and it still being just fine. And I'd kinda be surprised if anyone who isn't of the empire likes the empire, the Garleans are pretty generic.
I mean, looking at what they have on the final fantasy wiki for Viera, they're a tall race, who live longer than ff12's human counterparts, they live in this big forest and abide by the forest's rules. Heck there's even a bit where they don't talk to outsiders and seem pretty darn xenophobic. Imho if you just end up transplanting Viera from 12 into 14 (Which you seem to want, as you bring up Viera being "master of all weapons"), you're going to get a race that is incredibly similar both visually and culturally to the Elezens.
I'm a giant dragon and heretic sympathizer and I love character customization
See my thread about equalizing the heights for men and women of each race! http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/253435-A-suggestion-regarding-height.
Humans looking like humans, that's the discovery of the century.
In response to you wanting beast tribes, read what she says
In response to your viera statement. You didn't play FFXII and its sequel, it shows. After FFXII ended the viera changed their stance.
Didn't mind the viera in XII because we really only spent time with Fran and her sister, so it wasn't overbearing. And they were also a cool, stoic, fierce people. In an MMO it'd just be a swarm of cutesy bunny people with goofy names and cutesy outfits or whatever. Pass.
even though i personally wouldn't mind if the race was implemented, i can definitely see this coming
I'm fully aware that it's a Japanese game, but I was referring to the majority of Asian MMOs which are... bad, to say the least. Their is no "trademark" when it comes to Final Fantasy that's related to other Asian MMOs. Final Fantasy is its own thing, the developers have a slight sense of integrity and aren't trying to cash in on people who adore cute or risque things. I do like Miqo'te, which should be obvious by my playing one, can't say I'm the biggest fan of Lalas though, changed back after two days. They're cute, but it was odd playing as some little dude fighting giant beasts. In case you missed it, Final Fantasy is a Japanese mmo which I was also referring to. I meant all Asian mmo's in general have cutesy and or beast like races. That is one of their "trademarks", if you don't like such races than Asian games might be not for you.
I consider Miqo'tes and Lalafells cute, so FFXIV has already got what I "need". But again, I would love this Viera race.
What makes FFXIV standout is that isn't the generic cutesy Asian MMO, it has more to it, which is why I advocate more beastly races. They've struck a strike a nice medium on the male side of things, but the sexual dimorphism when it came to Au Ras is absurd and I hope they don't do that again. We've had one cutesy race, I feel like we could go with something else next expansion, and then a cutesy one again after that.
Aura male aren't cutesy
You're only saying that because of the female auras. That's their mistake. Viera should be next. We just had fierce race with the aura. Race decisions shouldn't count only one side, aura was meant to be a demon, a fierce race.
So you wouldn't mind cutey boy Viera and fierce female Viera?
Are we all in elementary school here? Races aren't 1 dimensional
They're not cute or fierce. You can be a cute male roegadyn or a cute male elezen. You're all going into extremely subjective labels here. Anyway they already made male and female viera concepts. You can call them both cute or both fierce, it really doesn't matter as long as the race is going to be well received like the aura were (a lot even switched/switch to aura). Viera clearly won the race poll (beating out the Aura). If Yoshida cares about the fans as he claims they should be the next race.
I think is was quite clear what I meant. Lalafell men, while cute can look somewhat like small men with potato bodies, but they can never be on the level of a rather mean looking male Au Ra due to the way they are designed. Can you show me a male Au Ra that is even close to being as cute as a Lalafell? That's the difference between a "cute" race, and a rather "fierce" one. If we can get more customization options with height sliders that actually scale quite a large amount and a variety of face types that aren't rather samey so we can have both, I'd be more than happy with that. What are the chances of that happening though? Are we all in elementary school here? Races aren't 1 dimensional

Also, Yoshida can care about his fans without appealing to their every whim and demand, that's when you get games that are nothing but fanservice junk. The concept art of Viera doesn't really matter, we all know how different the actual thing can look to concepts. Take the Au Ra concept art, this is what I consider to be "fierce" and would have been a nice change from what we currently have:

You can see where they changed it to look more human, but even then they were much more original than what we have now.

Personally I'd rather see a dragon race, we have the Au Ra but Yoshida hinted at those being more succubus like, so the option for a dragon-like race is still open, and would make far more sense lorewise than Viera would.

What part of "they just added a fierce" race did you not understand? It was their choice to make female auras fierce. Races shouldn't be decided on whether they're cute or fierce. Races should be added based on fan demand. They're the ones that are going to play the game. Viera clearly won the race poll. They even acknowledged it based on the fact that they spent time designing them for FFXIV and showing the concepts.
