    Theres nothing wrong with PvP! Isnt it? ISNT IT?

    I did quit the game a while and just came back some days ago, only to find out, that this 2 year old game still...


    ...doesnt allow PVP materia in PVP.
    We want to cover the weak companys, because players with materia will be to overpowered. But we are still putting materia slots on every new pvp gear.
    The game is just two year olds, maybe we can fix it before its dead. Oh, did you know you can use food to buff yourself, wich is nothing else than materia, sort of.


    ...doesnt have ANY use for Moral
    We noticed that the old Moral system (wich gave you additional DEF/ATK) was kinda broken and since we want to cover the weak,
    we did change the system to a system, wich doesnt even make sense at all and also degrades every PVP gear to PVE gear, sort of.
    We did offer pvp i100/110 gear (Middle/End of 2014) with the new moral system, but we accidently forgot to add content where the player could make use of it.
    Please forgive us, the game is just two years old, we will look into it before its dead, promised.


    ...builds on grand company restrictions.
    We noticed that our pvp wasnt messed up enough, so we decided to add amazing grand company restrictions.
    When we released the first patch notes before actual release back in 2014, players immediately told us that a "amazing" coordinated battle of three differend companys
    on a huge battlefield sounds amazing on a paper, so we didnt continue to check their feedback on this. They must still like it. Bottleneck queues? Whats that.
    The game is just two years old since this system works so well, we decided that we will try to add grand company restrictions to every future factions mode.


    ...has a messed up Queue system. (Frontlines)
    We noticed that our pvp wasnt messed up enough, so we decided to mess around with the actual queue system for frontlines. We made it so,
    that some people will wait 2 hours until they get into their first match, while their friend, who queues for the same content, with the same job, the same level/rank and search settings
    bypasses him 3 times during that time. The game is just two year old, so the affected friend of you can bypass you even many more times until this game is dead.




    ...has a messed up Queue system. (Wolfs Den)
    We noticed that when players queue for Wolfs Den, one of the eight players will probably be afk already due to the long wait times and the
    whole match will be canceled, leading to even more of those affected players to leave the queue right after. We decided to call this symptom the "7/8" symptom.
    We could have look into that already back in 2014 and this game mode is dead already? We are sorry, we did work hard on Slaughter during
    that time to give you an amazing new mode.


    ...prefers to give "Join in Progress" plops to players wich have just joined the Queue a second ago,
    rather than giving it to players wich are waiting all day long already.

    We noticed, that players, who have the strength to wait for 2 hours for a plop, can also wait 3 hours.
    Because of this, we made it so that "Join in Progress" plops mostly only plop for players, wich have just joined the queue.


    ...doesnt offer achievements for Healers.
    Since we are offering PvP and not SvS (Sponge vs. Sponge), we decided to not give any achievements for healers in all of our pvp modes.
    All the fame should go to dps classes. This game is just two year old, so you fellow whitemage still can reach 5000 kills before this game is dead.


    ...give range an incredible advantage (especially in 72 slaughter)
    We heard that melees do suffer a lot in 72 man slaughter modes because they can easily be nuked while
    standing in the middle (Some strange people calling it "Clusterfuck", what is this? I think we did well). And anyway, why are only loldragoons out there.
    This game is just two years old, and your fellow dps melee does have a lot of time to improve until this game is dead. A dedicated pvp player did send us some weird pictures.
    We dont know what he want to tell us.








    ...advertise that coordination is the Key in Frontlines.
    So we did add a mode, where strategy doesnt matter at all and everyone is just nuking each other in the middle and another mode,
    where the RNG factor overtakes the coordination factor by far.


    ...forces the Healer to tank, the tank to dps, the dps to dps even more.
    We noticed, that the Tank/Healer/DPS combo works well in our PvE, but since we trying hard to mess up our PvP,
    we decided to let the healers tank and the tanks dps. We think, thats its a nice experience for healers to see how it is to tank and
    soak in crazy amounts in damage and lets be real, tanks always wanted to use their strength accessories.


    ...offers tomes for PVP Roulette.
    We noticed, that the fully loaded train of pve "I dont care about the result, i just want the tomes"-people in our pvp content wasnt long enough,
    so we decided to add a pvp roulette wich only gives pve rewards to encourage more of those players to jump on the train. Then however,
    a small amount of our player base (We calling them pvp core players (Players that are actually enjoying our messed up pvp modes, lol)) told us to add pvp rewards to the roulette,
    so we did. We are happy with this rate of fixes we are offering to our pvp system, since this game is still only two years old so during the next 4 years,
    we can gladly offer you two more fixes.


    ...doesnt have a working Kick/Replace option for frontlines.
    We noticed, that our pvp isnt messed up enough, so we decided that a group cant kick someone before 5 minutes are over and also
    cant kick 10 minutes before the match is over in a match wich cant last longer than 15 minutes. Last week, a child, wich obviously was still in the kindergarden,
    told me as developer, that this math doesnt work. I told him to shut up, since i am the developer. But to go sure, i will call my old math teacher and together we will check this math.
    Anyway, this game is just two years old.


    ...says NO to your personal skill and YES to rng (Sieze).
    We heard, that you did very well in Slaughter. People told me you were a beast, who exterminates whole armys simply because you were skilled in pvp.
    To counter this, we released a new amazing game mode, where your skill can take a break at the beach.


    ...doesnt allow to write in chat (Linkshells/Free Company) while in a pvp match.
    We are affraid that you could talk to someone of your enemys team during a match. Since there is so much strategy involved during a frontlines match,
    it would be fatal when your enemy knows your tactics (Tactics like "Everyone mid, stay there until the match is over", or "Lets pray to RNG jesus"),
    so we are not going to allow this anytime soon. People who really want to do this, can simply meet each other on Teamspeak or PlayStation Party to exploid this?
    We do strongly believe in the hearts of our players.


    ...doesnt have a real roulette.
    Some of the players told us, that the "roulette" gives them to 99,8% the newest game mode. They also told us, that this is not what they think of a "roulette".
    We could have easily changed the current roulette to a great roulette, wich involves Secure/Slaughter/Sieze, but i am begging you, this game is just two years old,
    so please dont expect major changes like this anytime before this game is dead.


    ...forces players to play on the loosing team all the time.
    We came to the decision, that we want to encourage more players to play frontlines (Yoshi actually said this in a live letter back in the day). Because of this,
    we added grand company restrictions so that one company can go superior and dominate a whole data centre. Doesnt sound this like a lot of fun for someone who plays
    with the loosing team all day and night? Especially when we force him to play on that loosing team all the time. We think this encourages everyone to keep playing frontlines.
    You are saying that those players might just surrender and quit frontlines because of this? You must be mistaken. Heck, your saying that whole groups or alliances might
    surrender because they totally know they will just get roflstomped? You must be mistaken. You are saying that we could have just put random groups
    of people together in frontlines, wich would immediately solve the bottleneck problem? You must be mistaken. You are saying that everyone would basicly have the same
    win chance with random groups of people? You must be mistaken. You are saying that people could actually play frontlines with their friends without that whole GC thingy?
    You must be mistaken.


    "Being forced to play on the loosing team isnt that bad", says Sion Kineas confident. "With my last weeks W/L ratio of 1/56 it just takes me 11200 frontlines and approximately 3733-5600* hours
    of non stop frontlines to get 200 wins for that nice mount. And because this game is just two years old, i might can get it before i am dying at old age."

    *2-3 matches per Hour.



    ...let you think that Yoshi P. is a real pvp player.
    When in reality hes just a dirty liar when it comes to this. He always says this is amazing, that is amazing, everything in pvp is amazing.
    Did he ever play his own game? Jesus christ, its already two years old, get your shit together and start fixing stuff.

    My two cents. Some of those points might be a bit overreacting and of course, everyone does have his own opionion.

    If you complain so much why not spent your time with pve? Seize is not just "rng" good rng = getting attacked from both teams. Not be able to use ls/fc etc chat isn't bad. Morale/ materia works in wd which is good since frontline let u play against lower ranks. Idk what u mean with kick since u can kick ppl in frontlines. Also ofc healer tanks cause they focused and tanks are there to harass healer/caster not just dps (like in other pvp games). I could say more but not worth it. I wont say its perfect but u complained about things that are okay.

    You need a wider knowledge of pvp in mmo to understand all what Sanghelios is talking about.

    Mmo where trinity exist like in FFXIV (tank, dps, healer) and work in pvp aswell.
    Mmo where you really tank as a Tank, providing direct protection to an ally, taunting ennemies etc...
    Mmo where every job is more or less independent if the player is skill enough : you can defend a node alone as a dps against sereval ennemies for exemple by having multiple way to control your ennemies, healing yourself a little, diseappearing in fight, real defensiv skill etc etc...
    Mmo where you can kill someone alone as a Healer...
    Mmo where as a melee you don't have an error message each time you try to hit someone who's moving cause you don't have the same latency.
    Mmo where luck is not involded in the match. Only communication and individual skill.

    FFXIV offer good graphics (relatively goods..) and interesting playable job, hovewer pve and scenary are not particularly good, that's why we want they correctly develop the pvp part of this game instead of just going somewhere else.

    tl;dr

    I read somewhere awhile ago that 3.2 is the ''PvP update'' with real ranks and stuff (correct me if I'm wrong). Assuming we're receiving updates every 3 and half months, you should come back in march. Also, i'm not fan of this grand company system and the queue is really nuts sometimes (I'm on aether/twin badders, the queue time isn't an issue but dat win rate doe)

    Well I'm sure you're happy with Seal Rock now. I mean, just by change of ground, suddenly BLM isn't as great anymore (IE; your power comes from being ignored, but you aren't ignored since you're such an easy kill).
    That sick Node RNG is good too. I do feel that it does force coordination as the whole team needs to follow directions to accomplish efficient node grabs and offense push.

    Lol u can kill ppl alone as healer... "mmo where a melee...." playing melee isn't that bad and eu datacentre is coming tomorrow.To be honest idk which MMO u played but healer will always be a bit tanky. Again Seize is not rng u can always win but yeah blaming rng is always easier. Play WD that's more skillbased. And in which MMO u always tank as a tank in pvp yes u can taunt etc. but at the end people trying to kill the healer. Wider Knowledge? Do u know me or what xD I played enough MMO (focused on pvp)

    Mostly good points; PvP needs significant more attention from the developers. However there are somewhat of a "inside-the-box" thinking here. "Don't mess with the holy trinity", etc. Understandable, as SE clearly play it safe in most areas of the game while being a tad bit innovative with PvP. Which again showcase that they don't truly know the value of good PvP in an mmo (if they had known, then they would have played it safe here too).

    In the end, it's the PvPers who keeps the game alive, not the grinders. With a halfassed PvP system they have to constantly invent new grinds.

    "Slaughter = skill" made me giggle. That mode is definition of no-skill(doing PvE AoE rotation as an BLM on node always yelded atleast one kill usually more)just like TDM modes in general no matter what genre it is(WD type TDM is only place that requires skill). Mindgame is the true skill in PvP, think it as more like a poker where you do insane bluff that lets you rob your opponent.

    Shoutout for all Imm/Mael healers on Chaos who can bait and kite 8 Adders across the map, this game needs more players like you who can toy with idiots, as it makes me always lol hard when i see it happening ^^

    Ah, should have been a bit more specific here. Was more likely refering to 24 man Slaughter, were your Skill really matter a lot. But your right when it actually comes to 72 man.
