It's old outdated content. Welcome to MMOs. "Rare" things all generally have a shelf-life, ponies are past theirs.

WoWs Baron rivendares death charger says hello, its been in since vanilla and still retains 1% or less drop rate and that mount still to this day is rare, its nice to have rare things as it motivates people to do it since it is actual fluff content, doesn't needed to be handed on a silver platter like it does now.

I ran Strat enough times to memorize the npc dialogue and to practically be able to follow the map in my sleep.WoWs Baron rivendares death charger says hello, its been in since vanilla and still retains 1% or less drop rate and that mount still to this day is rare, its nice to have rare things as it motivates people to do it since it is actual fluff content, doesn't needed to be handed on a silver platter like it does now.
Never saw the thing drop. Not even once. My friend ran it 200+ times before he got his. I gave up before I ever saw it.
On one hand, I think some level of rarity is fine in mounts like this. That level of rarity is a bit silly, though.
You mean, I can haz horsie nao?
Yay yay yaaaay!![]()

Over 200 is not even that rare for how long it took people to get a pony they desired in FFXIV, so one can only assume the droprates weren't that different from WoW in the past, people were just more dedicated to get the mount they wanted, no matter how much time they had to put in.
The difference being that it had a speculated drop rate of 0.1-1% and it could take several hundred runs to get one without anybody else to roll on it, unlike the ponies. The Warglaives of Azzinoth being 5% which is significantly higher, and I've yet to see that drop in the several years I've been trying. The RNG on some items in WoW is ridiculous, and should never be put into FFXIV.Over 200 is not even that rare for how long it took people to get a pony they desired in FFXIV, so one can only assume the droprates weren't that different from WoW in the past, people were just more dedicated to get the mount they wanted, no matter how much time they had to put in.

The horse from WoW originally had a ~.02% droprate according to database data/speculation. They actually raised it in wotlk and I still never saw it. Some people got it their first run, others ran it hundreds and hundreds of times and never saw it drop. Heck, my friend was farming it at level cap when you could pull everything in the dungeon and one shot it all, doing dozens of runs a day. 200+ is probably an underestimation.Over 200 is not even that rare for how long it took people to get a pony they desired in FFXIV, so one can only assume the droprates weren't that different from WoW in the past, people were just more dedicated to get the mount they wanted, no matter how much time they had to put in.
Having to run something 200, 300, 400 times to get an item just...isn't fun. I've spent years farming items that I either never got or finally did after hours and hours of trying. And heck, I don't even care about the rarity - I just wanted the items because I thought they were cool. I mean, I'm fine with rare items, but there's a point where it gets a bit silly.
Which is why I'm glad the droprates on these ponies are what they are now. I managed to get one without running levi ex enough times to make me never want to touch the place again.

I think its good to have super rare mounts and it stays like that, granted I have this mount among other very rare mounts, some people have been farming it for years and every single one of them never asked for a increase in drop rate, they wanted it because it was super rare.I ran Strat enough times to memorize the npc dialogue and to practically be able to follow the map in my sleep.
