BLM: all thunders on one button highest to lowest

Personally I wouldn't do this, simply because if you're spamming the button you might end up casting a wrong Thunder spell. Say you intended to fire off a Thundercloud proc with Thunder III, yet you pressed the button a split second before GCD finished. In that case Thunder III will not fire, the macro however keeps executing and might fire Thunder II or Thunder instead if the GCD finished by the time the macro gets there. This is entirely possible the way macros are executed in FFXIV. Depening on how you play this might not be that much of an issue, but if you like to spam buttons like I do then you might misfire frequently.


The one thing I use.

BLM: Fire IV and Blizzard IV

Wonder why nobody mentioned that yet since I think it's pretty obvious. Both can only be fired during Enochian, which makes that one button something that stands out, plus these spells are mutually exclusive so the macro virtually cannot misfire. Well it can if you have significant lag while changing AF / UI phase and the macro is fired quickly enough during that lag, but I believe that happened to me exactly once since HW launch so chances are pretty low.


Also, all melee and ranged physical classes could macro pretty much every off-GCD attack action on one button, sorted by their priority. Yes this might misfire but in that case it's pretty neglectible since you generally want to fire all those abilities anyway. Keep more vital abilities out and you're good.
