Go play PSO on DC then. When you die, you drop not only your Meseta (Money) but your weapon as well.I think they should make Savage more hardcore. If you die in Savage you should lose "1" piece of gear randomly. Or you have to go collect your corpse and if you don't get it or crash you lose all your gear.
This game is very casual. Even the hardest content is casual. You have no penalties for losing in this game.

Strategy:
Throw your face at an encounter until you lose enough to learn how the encounter works. Exploit the encounter that never changes ever and grind over and over for loot that will get replaced in a month.
You pretty much zerg a powerful monster until it dies. Really fun content, really. Nothing about the encounter ever changes, you can't fight it any differently and you have to follow the script. There is no other ways to beat the monster and since its in an instance it never affects the world around you.
People throw around the word "Casual" way too much, when every single content in this game is casual.

I think a better solution is what happened in WoW with LFR.
Just introduce the normal mode shortly after the savage version, (say, a couple of weeks after, basically a reverse of the order it came out this time). For 2 reasons;
1.) Those who really want to experience the story first, will have extra motivation to do so.
2.) Gear in the Normal Mode won't be needed for early progression in the Savage version. As any possible/reasonably-possible ilevel increase you can get, is expected to be earned for any serious raiding static.
That would have required them to make Savage doable in 180 gear.I think a better solution is what happened in WoW with LFR.

it wasn't designed for 180 as it is.
Don't know about this, but in coil the first one was pretty damn easy. It's probably the same with Alex. The first few turns being easy, and once the second part unlocks it gets to a part where a lot of people can't beat it without having a useless static.
