good or bad? SE posting update info

I notice that every time SE puts up some new info, everyone understands it somewhat differently and then come these huge discussions which then turn into some nasty fights.

Do you think SE keeping us up to date like this is good? or bad?

It's what we asked, and it's generally good.
Then people do assumption based on his sense of reality and shit happens. Sure, someone can even read the future

LOL yes, at times some of the less mature amoung us can cause issues. But then again, there are those, I will admit, I am in this group at times, who are VERY passionate about certain changes that may occur, have yet to occur or things that may never change.

But I think with SE realizing the fact they didn't listen to it's base core XI players who really looked forward to this release, letting us discuss the updates is a good thing. Then they can come through the forums, see what we all are discussing and go; "Ok. Looks like 90% of the pop really like/dislike this idea." Imo, this gives them a leg up on possible issues resulting from the update(s) or lack there of.

News is great. I'm also sure more people simply visit to read and stay informed but don't ever participate in forums or discussion.

i hadnt quite thought of it that way, personally i kind of liked being surprised when something new was around the corner. At the same time i like reading about whats coming the downside is just as you said Yukikaze, people start to make assumptions which more often than not lead to arguements that span pages, i wonder if there is a way to fix this, atleast enough so we arent at each other's throats XD

If they would release more information at a time, or a reason "why" with their releases, this wouldn't be an issue.

Because they release small amounts, with no explanation, the forums go crazy with assumptions when all SE has to do is explain "why" with their posts...

I don't see how it can be anything but good news. As pointed out, the other alternative is months of no news at all.

The problem isn't with the news given to us, it is with people projecting their own hopes and fears onto the information we are given (I know I did with the changes to the repair and to the crafting). As everyone has a different feel for the game and its future this is automatically going to give people different expectations of the changes and given we are on the internet everyone is going to argue about it.

The alternative (no news) is not going to fix the arguments, the hopes and fears we all have will still be there and the direction of the game will still be argued about.

In the end we will all know how the changes effect us all and then the arguments will move to a different topic. In the meantime I like to read about the future of the game and hope for better things - Chocobo's.

I like to see the updates and what is about to happen (b'.')b

The people who rage about changes, tweaks and fixes are the same people that rage that the current gameplay is broken.

Haven't read a dev post yet that hasn't screamed "Look at how awesome this is about to become!" whenever the 1.19 patch is mentioned.
