One of the shortcomings of text-based communication is that it's not possible to see when someone's not completely serious; you can't see my smirk when I deliberately misinterpret the balls in question, for instance. But thank you, both of you, for setting me straight.

A friend and I were actually talking about the issue of cursing in Eorzea. Thal and his balls get a lot of attention, but why doesn't anyone ever swear by Menphina's moons, or Llymlaen's flow? They're also nice phrases, given to the same kind of double meaning.

But, uh, sportsball! You know, polo was originally played with a goat's head. We've got mounted troops and goats, I wouldn't be surprised if someone was playing some kind of game with 'em.
